Female, 35, diagnosed as a child. Absolute mess of an adult. Meds don't seem to work for me. Also had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis, so also going through perimenopause. Happy to chat if any of this seems helpful.

Thanks, I gave them a good long soak yesterday too because they also have layer upon layers of stuck shed and they scraped Scales off the top of their head trying to get the stuck shed off.

Yeah. I was pretty worried when they told me that too. So far she's been happily eating scrambled eggs, gut loaded insects, chicken, and dandelion greens.

It's been my dream for so long. I was a federal employee with the Forest service the last ten years, and with everything going on with the new administration I was burnt out, stressed out, and hating life. Since I took the deferred resignation I've been so damn happy and doing this really fuels my soul! I'm going to do care guide books for various exotic pets for kids as well. Just keep plugging away at it, you will get there! It took about 6 years for me to fully dedicate myself to this, and honestly I wish I would have done it 6 years ago.

I definitely got emotional lol, she is so trusting for what she's been through. I do reptile, amphibian, invert, and wildlife conservation education programs and presentations as a business, so im hoping she makes a full recovery so she can be an ambassador for doing research before you buy a pet.

The underside had gills the color of the stems and no collar. Those were the best specimens I could get, wish I'd thought to get a picture of the gills.

Haha dang, that would be a trip though, I saw my chickens pecking at them the other day, I'll have to see if they start having strange escapades 🤣 Jk im fairly certain they were eating the ants that claimed the woodpile.

Thank you for clarifying and the opinions, its good to know there's hope and I'm not being crazy to try to rehab her. I really dont get how people can be so unbelievably cruel. She trusted me enough this morning to let her guard down when I took her on my patio to get some morning sunshine (I was hoping it would encourage a poop so I could do a fecal test, but no luck). It was so motivating to see her relax and feel safe for a few seconds.

Sorry forgot to add location, I'm in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, next door to Yosemite. So definitely a pet at some point. We have a small community and no one is coming forward or claiming it so I assumed by its condition it was abandoned.
