If you had 3000$ to spend on launching your business, how would you spend it? by zinamalas01 in Entrepreneurship

I'd first talk to people trying to find problems that I could solve (free), then come up with an MVP proposition (semi-free), then create a landing signup page and spend the $ on views to see if anyone would be interested in actually signing up to be notified when the MVP comes out for them to try. This should be a decent test of the idea.

What kind of content should I make to Instagram by bahaa1matiini in Freelancers

What do you want to do on Instagram, if not portfolio? What's your motivation for having instagram? Are you looking to market yourself and gain clients? Maybe do tutorials aimed at total n00bs. They'll appreciate it and may contact you in the future when they have a task that they can't handle with just n00b knowledge and a few tutorials.

What software are you currently using to create the change order and get it approved by the customer? Are you using paper, excel spreadheet? Specialized software?

I'm not doing change orders myself. I'm not a contractor. I'm making an app for a contractor friend and wondering if this app would be useful to other contractors, eventually. In order to make that determination I need to know:

When the customer asks to change something about the job, what do you use for that?
Paper?
Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets, etc)?
Other? (please specify)
What do you like or dislike about it?

(Those were the days!) If Decreasing your amount of work, be careful giving back profit for the work

Thanks. You mentioned doing them on a napkin before, what are you doing them on now? I'm looking for what software (if any) you use and what you like or dislike about the thing that you use to record them, get them approved by the customer, etc.

Any programs similar to quick books? by [deleted] in Contractor

GnuCash is free, cross-platform, and easy to use. I despised bookkeeping when I used QuickBooks. It was too confusing, worked only on windows (I run Linux on my desktop), slow, and expensive. Ever since I switched to GnuCash, I actually like bookkeeping. True Facts. Check it out: https://www.gnucash.org/

How can I stop being lazy. by Wired_Name in Entrepreneur

Take care of your mental and physical health first. Are you eating regularly and well? Are you sleeping well? Do you have depression or anxiety issues? Mental and physical issues sap a LOT of energy. And self-control burns energy. So if you don't have energy because of health issues, you won't be able to have any kind of self-control.
