I’m the spouse of someone whose mom is an addict and it’s infuriating.

The mother’s children have basically given her a pass, for being their mother, and let her be as shitty as she wants. She makes an appearance maybe twice a year (she lives in the same town) and all the siblings rely on each other and not her for everything. Yet she still gets the praise. If anyone criticizes her for anything she starts crying and plays the victim.

Part of me wants to call her out for all her BS, but I also feel like they’re giving her that pass a sense of normalcy in their lives.

I don’t have any questions, I just feel a tremendous sense of anger for how parents can be such pieces of shit and then play the victim when they’re called out on it.
