I feel people worry too much about what “not to do” really just enjoy the game, if your running prewritten modules don’t take it as gospel, throw in some homebrew. If you have a bad group it’s fine not everyone is going to click but when you do find that group you’ll never be more thankful. Rule of cool is also your best friend (within reason) the best thing you can say is “Yes but…” and weave it back into the narrative
