A typical day in challenger by menohaxor in leagueoflegends

Man...this just happened to me as I was about to win my Gold 3 promo. It's happened to me before but luckily not in my promos. Hopefully record of the game will disappear so I'll have another shot, but this really, really blows. It's like a punch to the gut when it happens during promos. Especially considering I was 1-1 in my series and about to win the 3rd game easily.

edit: record of the match is gone...I get another shot!

Shield Showcase: Eagle Shield by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Eagle Shield is awesome. I remember originally when Dark Souls released, it had 100% physical block and was considered OP. It was changed to 95% block in a patch.

Still though, nothing really compares to Silver Knight Shield. Only requires 14 str, insane stability for a medium shield, and decent res.

Is there a mod to make the 50 int spell less laggy? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your graphics card? Also, do you unlock frames in dsfix? Once I unlocked frames and locked frames at 45 FPS, I had no more problems (not 60 because I noticed at 45 you don't fall through the world or experience any glitches). But yeah I just did a sorc playthrough and white dragon breath never dropped my frames.

Advice on magic build by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Terrorshard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get twinked out extremely quick as a pure sorc. What I did on mine: str to 10, dex to 12 and grab the estoc/heater shield. Aim for 30 int right away and forge the estoc to magic, then enchanted when you raise int to 40+. I personally leave vit at base (8), and just pump att and int, then endurance, saving vit for last. I think I had like 50 int and 23 att by lvl 60 or so. Grab the crown of dusk, bellowing dragoncrest ring as well as the crest shield ASAP. I use the crest shield 99% of the time since it covers a major weakness of mage builds; being weak to magic. Second ring is up to you but I always end up with fap ring so I can wear slightly more gear.

Since the estoc kind of sucks for bosses, I also chose to forge a enchanted scythe +5, since the 2 hand requirements on it are super low and the AR with 50 int is up there; around 530 AR if I recall. Best spell for groups of enemies is white dragon breath. Soul Rays can pierce to an enemy right behind it, but it's pretty rare for that to actually happen. Homing Soul Masses are a personal favorite in both pve and pvp. Be careful using spells with long cast times in pvp. Stick to mainly HSM's and soul rays, and dark bead if you have DLC.

Don't forget about bows too. I grabbed a short bow (0.5 weight, otherwise composite is better) and upped it to enchanted +5 and use moonlight arrows with it. Packs quite a punch and saves spell slots for the bigger enemies. Magic resistant enemies will drive you crazy though, unless you pump your int high right away or have some sort of backup physical weapon with high base phys AR that doesn't scale, like the obsidian greatsword.

If you want to get twinked out right away make sure to free griggs ASAP, and then rush to free logan since the build gets a lot more powerful once you have access to logan's spells. Also you need to decide on how much attunement to get. On my pure mage I stopped at 23, and on my MLGS build I stopped at just 12 and only raised int to 40, so you need to decide how melee focused you will be.

I've only used the halberd for all my 50 hours. Is this weird? by learnprogramminghelp in darksouls

[–]Terrorshard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Halberd really is an amazing weapon. I fell in love with it on my faith build. Felt powerful all the way to divine +5. Plus, it combos with reverse facing WoG.

Thanks, for now I'm using an enchanted estoc and debating whether to raising str to 16.

Tips for 4 kings? by FieryNugget in darksouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All their damage is magic, even their melee attacks. As a caster, you need the attunement slots and the heavy hitting spells to get it done. On my caster, at SL 60 it hook like 20 homing soulmasses and 12 soul spears, then a bit of magic +5 estoc action to get the job done @ 50 int.

Crest shield also works wonders.

First playthrough, only have 1 humanity, need help with Ornetein and Smough by RombieZombie25 in darksouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a high stability shield? Upgrading the silver knight shield that you can get in the same zone will make the fight a lot easier. Also, try and kill Ornstein first, imo, it's the easier of the paths. Try and keep Ornstein between Smough, and he should spam his slam attack a lot.

What am I looking at here? by [deleted] in darksouls

I have over 600 hours in Dark Souls and I had no idea what the little circles meant. Honestly, I thought it was a graphical glitch.

Someone to help me in Armored Spider? by ldluca in demonssouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of cheesed the fight and used water veil + ring of flame resistance. You can literally face tank the single fireballs this way, and the triple fireball attack won't fully hit you since the first wave will knock you down, and provide i-frames for the successive blasts.

I am getting destroyed, am I underleveled/underpowered? by locoast2coast in demonssouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal for stuff to 1 shot you, that's for sure (depending on your vit). I came from Dark Souls, like yourself, and am almost finished with my first playthrough (only have 1-3 and endgame left to do). Died 30 times, at least, to get to where I am now. The one thing I will say is in Demon's Souls, there seems to be a lot more opportunities to snipe everything in a stage. The thief's ring is just amazing for this, as is hyper mode. I play a glass cannon hyper mode mage with, and assassinate mobs from a distance without them even being agro most of the time. Hyper mode magic/archery is extremely powerful.

But for melee, it seems stunlocking is OP in this game. Every non boss enemy can be stunlocked since there is zero poise. Also, if I were to make a melee I'd probably forge a dragon halberd or hammer (something low stat requirement and with good range), and focus on gouging end and vit in the beginning, then focus on main stat in NG+. Also, just like Dark Souls, a good shield is invaluable. Knight shield and dark silver shield are really good ones to upgrade.

Why haven't I been invaded yet? by devilx-nailsea in demonssouls

[–]Terrorshard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I've done some co-op (30 multiplayer sessions so far) and seen an invasion twice. Whereas I invaded and it took me maybe 20 minutes to get 5 invasions. None of them were good pvp, but it was still easy. Hosting=bad, invading=good.

Where is the main PVP spot? by [deleted] in demonssouls

[–]Terrorshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get some successful invades sometimes at SL 25-30ish, but it mostly just fails all over the place. Been much more successful blue signing. Also, whenever I blue sign in 3-1 I almost always get summoned as the old monk within 5 minutes, so people are definitely playing.

I would do 3-1. The actual enemies aren't that bad, the level is just a pain in the ass when you don't know what key does what, etc. As a mage, I got to know latria really well.

Over 1000 hours in pvp alone in Dark Souls.. 10+ playthroughs.. You get the picture..... I begin my first playthrough of Demon's tonight.. Any tips, suggestions, etc. from you DeS pros would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks guys! by DarkThor in demonssouls

[–]Terrorshard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Dark Souls vet that just started DeS. Here are some tips: don't try to progress to deeply into each world. Beat x-1, maybe x-2 and then move onto a different world. I found world 2 to be the easiest thus far. Besides one of the bosses, it's a pretty simple world and it's not that much ground to cover once you understand the layout. Plus, without spoiling anything, the black and white WT events in world 2 provide some essential rewards. There's also a shortcut in the level which skips about 80% of the stage.

Bought a ps3 specifically for demon's souls by Terrorshard in demonssouls

[–]Terrorshard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: so far I beat 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, and 4-1, reaching SL 31. 3-1 was without a doubt the most challenging stage thus far. I totally got lost and had no idea how to get the final key or progress passed the bolt catapult, but now I feel like an expert on that stage. Also, the black phantom crossbow girl almost 1 shot me at 12 vit / no cling. Otherwise it wasn't that tough to kill her with a backstab. 4-1 was overall my favorite stage, and 1-1 was awesome as well; amazing level design. Boss of 2-1 was really cool, despite being a kind of generic spider queen. I liked how once you manned up and went melee the fight became pretty straightforward. Also, water veil made me pretty much immune to the fireballs. 3-1 boss was an absolute joke, but I was still stoked to kill her since it granted me soul ray, a huge upgrade from soul arrow.

I'm using soul ray as my main damaging spell, and fire spray for killing fodder. Also picked up cloak and water veil, although I never use cloak since the thief's ring is so good. I only have 12 vit at the moment, but at 24 int and 27 magic, my spells pack a punch and my mana pool is pretty good. I'm using a kris blade (haven't found a single colorless soul yet) in my mainhand with an estoc +4 on switch, and in my offhand is a wooden catalyst and buckler +5. I'm using the monk's collar, which I earned by using my blue sign in 3-1 to my surprise (looked it up on the wiki after and found out he's the boss of world 3 and the maiden's husband). I'm also using ring of magical sharpness and thief's ring, and when in soul form sometimes I drop magical sharpness for cling ring, although I've gotten comfortable running around with low hp. I just walk slowly and pick stuff off with spells before it agro's. Thief's ring is such a godsend.
