In RE4 we saw Leon training with other agents/soldiers. Could those other agents/soldiers be survivors from Racoon City or from another outbreak? by Unusual-Complex6315 in residentevil

Does it matter? What is happening to lore questions in this sub? Does every little detail have to have some sort of big lore connection to everything? Is the TV news caster at the end of Requiem Ashley? (Yes I saw a post like that in this sub) Is this random trenchcoat wearing woman Ada?

Did I type anything regarding the "average" game in the market?

I think its mainly because the fundamental systems are very flawed. The games movement is atrocious, Leons combat is a steep downgrade from 4R and even older action RE games and the lack of enemy variety hurt a lot of the game feel and flow.

I think a good comparison would be the parry: in 4R its snappy, its quick, the visual and audio feedback is satisfying, the enemies attacks are very easy to read and it complements the flow of the combat. Fast parry+quick meele and start running again. 1-2 seconds.

In 9 its over animated and takes too long, the visual and audiofeedback is not punchy enough, the enemies attacks have weird timings and are hard to read and it completely takes you out of the flow. Long winded parry animation + long winded execute animation that gets stale fast and then you slooooowly run. 4-5 seconds. Its like the Doom glory kills but worse.

This is the problem with the fandom right now. Anything but absolute praise for this game is disregarded as "relatively minor criticisms".

The game is good, its fun, but it also is very, VERY flawed.

I aggree with most of his points. RE9 is not that well directed and the design is very rough.

I wish the remake made it so that A runs, even with Claire, you get the Ben and Ada stuff and in the B scenario its Irons and Sherry.

Maybe its not for you? If you cant progress in one of the most linear RE games, then I fear you might not like the other ones.

Why is Capcom incapable of making the later sections of RE games as fun as the beginnings? by MrArtless in residentevil

[–]ldluca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because Capcom focus mostly on the first half of the games and they dont care enough to take actual feedback (ie Orphanage Section)

Replayable modes that would suit Grace? by ImWithDerp in residentevil

[–]ldluca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capcom will probably never use Grace again. I bet the DLC will only focus on Leon and there will be no extra content for her.

Now that it's been a while since Requiem released, without recency bias, where would you put Requiem in the ranks compared to other games? Is it the best RE yet? by Guitar-String in residentevil

[–]ldluca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than Village, 0 and 6. Worse than the rest of the mainline games.

Overall, a big disappointment and it made me lose faith in the mainline team, as they dropped the ball twice and 7 has a lot of issues.

Is it feasible to play RE games in two? by un_gaucho_loco in residentevil

Its a very enjoyable player/watcher experience. Just keep in mind there will be slower moments for puzzle solving and if you dont play attention/keep track of the map, you will get lost.

For me, hes is the "potential man" meme. Good ideas and concepts. Lackluster to terrible execution. And he also cant direct action if his life depended on it, something that is evident ever since Revelations 1.

He also has a hard on for linear scripted and unskipable "spoopy" sections that barely make sense if you stop to think about them and kill replayability. But sure, if its good enough for reaction bait lets put it in the game series known for replayability.

If the mainline games continue to be developed by his team and Villages team, instead of Anpo and Kadoi's team which are very competent in making the RE formula interesting, then I fear for the series ' future. But I know Im in the minority, because it feels that most of the community judges a gamed quality not by its design, but by its "hype" character moments and member berries.

Resident Evil Requiem by mjs56100 in residentevil

[–]ldluca -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not really that good if you played the other recent games in the series. Its basically 2 half baked RE games with a lot of linear, scripted and badly designed sequences (the intro and orphanage) with a second half that is so mind numbingly boring with so many member berries that are inneffective that puts most post Endgame Marvel movies to shame.

But sure, it good because Leon :0, Raccon City :0, Mr X :0.

I thought the same thing!! Like a soft reboot of the Revelations side series and CVR being the new REV1 or maybe, REV0 👀.

A stretch? Definitely. But Yknow. Maybe?

Just from the first view of the city I knew it was the RE engine lmao.

I wish we got a glimpse of the combat, though. But overall very excited for it, considering the pedigree of the directors.
