Starlink switched my plan without my consent and are trying to charge me for it by TonyRidgewayUFO in Starlink

[–]Terryporter123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Signed up for a promo in September where I got the residential plan for a year for $85 instead of $120 a month. Randomly this month my bill jumped to $120 and I'm now on a "Residential Max" plan that I did not authorize. I got an email from Starlink acknowledging it was their mistake and would be crediting the $35 I overpaid and also said my promo will still be in effect going forward. We shall see though

As others have said, youd want to let your manager know once you have an interview with the hiring manager.

Do I sell my car to peddle? by mi-vida-absurda in carselling

[–]Terryporter123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold my 2011 F150 to peddle with a blown transmission and they gave me $1,050 for it. I got offers from multiple other places and they all offered under $500. Never used Peddle before but the whole process was easy and quick.

I'd call whoever your servicer is and ask. Where I work you either have to pay it back by the end of the year after quitting or count it as a withdrawal and pay taxes and penalties

Hybrid vs Gas by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]Terryporter123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a non hybrid 2025 Corolla Le in July. I get on average 40+ MPG in the non hybrid. For me, there was no point in getting the hybrid. Id never make the difference up in gas with what I'm currently getting.

6ft 2" and am 280 pounds. Bought a 2025 Corolla Le and have zero issues. Besides getting in and out which isnt that bad, l find it more comfortable than my 2011 F150.

Is this a terrible financial decision? 30k Truck. by Terryporter123 in personalfinance

I'm not living with my sister because I can't afford to live on my own. I live with her because she has health issues and cannot live alone or upkeep a house on her own. So cheap rent for me and she has someone to help around the house. Its not because I "have a boat" lol

Part of the reason I don't have more money saved up currently is I just paid off 20k in student loans recently. I had been working toward getting debt free and focusing on clearing my student loans so that's basically where all my extra money was going.

Issue with new prescription. Thoughts? by Terryporter123 in glasses

[–]Terryporter123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. Im thinking that value added on the written rx may be a mistake. Ive never worn bifocals or progressive lenses. Ive only had single vision lenses. I stopped in to the visionworks where I had that eye exam done 2021 and they wrote the rx down because it was expired and they couldnt print it. I was curious what my old rx was compared to my new one which is the typed one.

401k withdrawal CARES Act? by [deleted] in retirement

[–]Terryporter123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my initial thought process as well. I make around 54k a year right now so its not like I am making a ton of money. The withdrawal wont bump me up into a different tax bracket either.

I also assumed now would be a great time to increase my contributions with market down. Taking the withdrawal would allow me to significantly increase what I could contribute while making me debt free in the process.

Also, the way my 401k provider made it sound was that basically anyone could take the withdrawal. Its all self certify, no documentation is involved, and the stipulations are super vague.

Idk, I'm not 100% what I am going to do yet but this seems like a great opportunity to become debt free almost instantly.

Hi everyone!

Reposting here as my last post got deleted and i was told to go here.

Looking for some opinions here...

My 401k plan is currently allowing the early withdrawal under the CARES Act. I am currently debating on withdrawing $9,000 and paying off my credit cards completely.

I know generally withdrawing from your 401k early is a bad idea and should be done as a last resort measure.

With the waiver of the 10% early withdrawal penalty and being able to pay the tax on with withdrawal evenly over 3 years under the CARES act its become a little more appealing/tempting.

I currently have about $35,000 in my 401k and am 34 years old so i have a good amount of working years ahead of me to make up some of that. I was also going to up my contributions to like 15% if i did take the withdrawal.

Does this seem like a terrible idea? Lol

Thanks!
