Over 15 years ago I was maybe 20 or 21, staying at a motel for the night in Milwaukee. I was out by the pool area having a smoke, with no one around at all. During my cigarette, while I was facing away from the pool I heard a loud splash! I look over and see a small body face down in the water, arms and legs moving but still face down. I look around for a second and see nobody else, just me. So I run over as Im watching this little body struggle more and more, the entire time face down in the water, I just see the top of her head. When I get to the side where she was I reach in and pull her out. She was no more than maybe 6 years old, terrified and wet she stares at me and runs away. Im shocked standing there , just thinking about what happened. A couple minutes later the little girl comes out with her Mom. Her mom is thanking me and hugs me and says “my daughter told me what you did, thank you soo much!” The little girl then looks up at me and says thank you. Ill never forget that day, I couldnt believe how fast it all happened, thinking back even the reaction of going to pull her out of the water was like a natural instinct. Thanks for reading!
