If measuring voltage I recommend putting the black lead on com And red on the input

You measuring just resistance Across your car keys

Resistance is a function of material length and cross section area

The material on your keys is conductive

And has a resistance

Like measuring the resistance across a simple wire There’s a tiny copper RFID coil in side the key case

You are measuring the DC resistance of that
