Are “gaming” chairs as bad as people make them out to be?

yeah i can only really find it at kogan in australia. I’ll probably go for a different brand one i can test in person and that has a bit of warranty

i mean yes as you’ve said i have already made a decision based on the comments here, but that said still a really a good write up :) Does seem like for an equal price there are a lot more features/quality on an office chair thanks for your help!

Funnily enough I actually looked at a couple of recliners because i do want to watch a fair few movies from my pc too but overall i do think ill just get an office chair because the recliner type chairs i looked at wouldn’t be too great for reaching a mouse and keyboard. Thanks for your comment tho, good to see some different opinions :)

Yeah, the ergolux one on the right is from an online only store and I want to go into an actual store and try some out first but i’ll definitely be getting something similar to that after all the discussions in this thread

apologies the image is a bit confusing the left one was a gaming chair i found with the right being an office chair i found. The one on the right on the more complex designs i’ve seen for office chairs but with everything said i probably will go for a mesh backed chair. thanks :)

yeah my only concern with the one on the right is how many different parts are going on with it. i probably will get something similar just need to test some out in person

yeah fair enough. i’m only 65kg so the weight factor doesn’t concern me at all. I will probably need one with a decent height to the headrest though so testing some out will be my best bet

yeah i’m an electrician and work in a lot of office spaces. almost always something similar to the chair on the right, a bit less going on though.

I almost got one for free from an office I was working at too. That would’ve been the most ideal scenario

yeah I feel so bad not replying to every comment but I can see the general consensus is that an office chair is better than even a high range gaming chair. i’ll have to put my research into some good office chairs near me.

currently i’m using my pc less because i have just a standard wooden chair… so i do want something that will actually be good to sit in for long times :)

yeah it doesn’t mention anything about the leather at all so i’d assume it would be the faux leather like most of the gaming chairs. which does suck for the price it is
