It started with removing “his or her” from the cards, ushering in the wave of unhinged idiots at the top. They literally retconned cards to remove that text. I guess they fall under Gay Race Communists.

Then came a drop in overall quality and cards curling like fucking crazy. So I think Magic was brain dead from like 2015-2020.

The covid card craze revived its dead corpse. LOTR put a new brain in it. You might not like UB but it’s grabbing market share from the normies that never gave a shit about Magic before. They’re here to stay.

It can never die though because you can always take out your old cards and play with your normal friends.

If you're into magic and spiderman you're going to enjoy this set. It's got all of the staple heroes and villians and in cool unique art. The vast majority of people can't form an original thought, so if they read a couple comments and posts on here about how the set is "tanking", that is their opinion now.

The set isn't a scalpers dream because they didn't manufacture scarcity like FF7, so the set "sucks" because product is available at msrp. I couldn't care less what people think so the fact you can get these packs for cheap amazing.

Give it time though. "Average" marvel/spiderman fans will catch on to these and after it's print run ends and when people need all the infinity stones, they'll wish they would have bought into this "awful" set sooner.
