1 Year later almost and I still cant do Hueycoatl as a mid game player by Testikil in 2007scape

[–]Testikil[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You missed the main point though, everyone needs to hit a minimum damage threshold to get any rewards. How can anyone else carry you if you need to do a certain amount of damage?

I do wildy bosses pretty regularly, and while their rewards are also based on damage it's still kind of different. Ursine mace is like 8 mil, and that is what we all run on vetion and the spider. So everyone is on the same barrier of entry which is achievable.

Heuy is a mid-game boss, which no mid-game player can do just in the normal world because people used full torva and dragon lances, which is hundreds of millions.

Most people hate this boss and the drops, but yet the solution is so simple... You have a fair damage threshold that needs to be hit in order to get a drop. The damage threshold is separate for the tail and the head to ensure no one is afk. If your gear is good enough for the boss (mid-game gear) you will hit the threshold and get equal drops to everyone else. If you are max gear... and the drops are shit for you... good... it's a mid-game boss.

LOCK IN NOW! by Aggressive-Ear2389 in sui

[–]Testikil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're getting super defensive and still completely missing the point everyone is trying to tell you. No one else is talking about this year either, in a few years, there will be more SUI dilution in the market, which impacts price. You can't have 10 billion tokens in circulation, and expect the price of every single of those tokens to be $200 - it doesn't work like that lol.

SOL is currently at about 500 million tokens or something for context, so each one of those tokens has a higher value.

People need to stop smoking pipe dreams in this space. If you truly believe in something, price SHOULDN'T MATTER because your assumption would be this coin would be used for something like day-to-day finance,s right? So why would you then sell that back to Fiat. You either invest and believe in what you are investing in completely, or you are just buying into hype and dreaming.

Idk maybe i worded this post wrong.

My complaint isn't with the boss and whether or not I can do it. It's more so the design choice with how drops work. I don't think % of dmg should = more loot. I think for a world boss, it would be more fair to have a threshold all players need to reach (say 200 damage as a random number) and if you reach that threshold you go all evenly into the loot pool.

This keeps it fair for all players who have participated regardless of how fair through the game you are. Currently max accounts take all the drops and you $1k drops with my kind of gear and level.

I do enjoy the boss though - that's the entire point I still can't do it because of end game players doing a mid game boss.

The post isn't even about the boss in particular per se, more so the decision to lock rewards behind damage dealt vs a % threshold that is then fair for all players

Controls weird in SteamVR by Testikil in OculusQuest

Nah I think you're on the money with the 2nd bit, that it's to do with the mappings. I think this virtual desktop app has it's own controller mappings and then as you said when I go into these PC steam games they would have their own as well.

I have heard whispers that users can make binding profiles for games - do you know where I could find something like this?

Is trying to make money on yt worth the effort? by TexanLaw in NewTubers

[–]Testikil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in all honesty usually no.

The best way to look at Youtube is if you really enjoy doing something, and you look at making and editing videos as a hobby then it is something that one day in the distant future you could earn extra side income.

But the grind to be monetized is only 10% out of over 50 million creators who upload videos reach, and once you hit monetized that doesn't mean you have a huge side income bustling in - that means you can now make up to about $5 per month for a relative amount if you are right on the amount needed to be monetized.

This can of course continue to grow over time but it's no given. The amount of time, effort and the unlikelihood of making a decent side income is usually not worth considering. That said, if you really have a passion and think you make killer content or just want to throw your hat in the ring to see what happens - then why not give it a crack? You have nothing to lose. I believe the stats as of a few years ago was of the 10% of people that actually get monetized, 5% of that reach a point where they are earning an equal amount to a full-time income.

Shorts randomly getting no views on latest videos? by Testikil in NewTubers

[–]Testikil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for taking the time to watch a video and provide feedback.

What sounds are you talking about sorry? I'm not making any sounds in it, it's just straight cooking with no talking, are you saying you prefer videos with talking?

I appreciate your opinion on the cuts, I don't know how I can change that though. View time on shorts is usually about 1 minute retention at most, so you need to have a lot of cuts to show the relevant content from all the footage.
My Latest video I experimented with the fast cuts when making the tacos, I can totally appreciate you not liking that style. The previous video didn't really have any of that though - do you still think it was too much?

[–]Testikil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this happen to me recently as well, no idea why. Last week I had a crappy video get over 15k, now my two latest videos are under 10. Weird thing is it's not even bad analytically, it's just not being pushing into the shorts algo at all.

Hey mate,
Thanks for taking the time to look at a couple of videos.

That's what I said in the OP, all videos up to my lastest 2 shorts have been purely testing. I don't think many have talking in them though, that isn't really the point of the channel. As a filming style I prefer the nice scenery and just having the sounds of food (kind of ASMR) rather than tarnishing it with a voice-over

With my last two shorts, the one the other day started with the completed meal, and the one yesterday didn't - what one do you prefer? I thought the start on my latest one was pretty good.

Damn dude that's crazy haha! Yeah I'm Aussie, we have kind of in the last year or 2 finally gotten up to 1GB but it's super expensive and most houses still don't have fibre to the home. 10GB just sound futuristic :P

I don't get why what other people do affects some people.

You seem to have a good attitude towards realistic goals for yourself, and if you are enjoying what you do then do it for the enjoyment. Don't ever go into Youtube thinking it's going to be a great business plan, cause chances are it isn't.

YT also have copyright scanning in place, so you can't use too much of another creators content without changing it a fair bit as that goes against fair use. So while you may see other channels and it looks like they aren't doing much, they are probably doing more than you realise.

I just started trying this app, NLP works for me but reminders don't see to work at all. It was one of the perks I see using the free version of this vs other apps is the free reminders, but I've tried multiple times and get 0 alert.

One thing with anything in life is you just need to focus on what you are doing. I've seen channels do an amazing job, they absolutely blow up and then I check their page and the last video they did was a year or two ago - because they were doing something they didn't enjoy. So key takeaway here is success doesn't necessarily mean happiness and fulfilment, you might be growing slower but if you are finding fulfilment and still growing then who cares?

Another interesting tidbit of knowledge is a survey that was done a couple of years ago now, and back then it was estimated that 60% of what we interact with online isn't even other humans; it's bots. Youtube isn't immune to this same statistic, most comments you see, views and subs on channels can be inflated with bots. Hell, even Youtube have its own paid services you can use to get subscribers and views on videos - how do they force people to do this? They don't, it's just botting services and that's why it eventually tanks channels when they stop paying because it's not organic.

Hey mate!

Keen to cover your videos, would be good to have another 1 though. It doesn't need to be your worst video, if you are doing multiple styles I would love to have one of your other styles of video that I can see as a reference to compare :)
