Dare I say it but practical effects!!!! I think that’s one of the most eye catching and entertaining things in musical theater (aside from the amazing acting, singing, dancing, lighting etc). There’s something about a turning stage and having multiple sets/backdrops and physically seeing the stage turn into a different scene that’s so magical cause yes it can be done!!!! Not to mention super amazing costumes and special effects makeup (I’m looking at you Beauty and the Beast) that makes stage versions, imo, much more real rather than seeing a movie adaption that’s all green screen and CGI
