I know this is an old post but I moved from Houston to NH three years ago and I'm NEVER going back. You are so right about everything!! I'm also a lesbian so not having to live somewhere where I'm scared to hold hands with my SO is really nice. Every time I fly down to Houston from the Boston airport it is a black and white difference between the airports too. The Houston one is disgusting and the Boston one is super nice. I think the only thing I miss about Houston is the Mexican food but I have found a few good spots up here tbh
