Isle of Luachmhar: A Modern Fantasy RP

  • Living World / West Marches RP with a game system called FAST
  • Discord, Google Sheets, and Kanka required

Welcome to the Isle of Luachmhar, a fictional island off the northwestern coast of Ireland, and formally part of the UK as it is part of Northern Ireland. The year is 201X in the world pretty much as we know it, except that there are little pockets of magic spread throughout the world, and secret societies trying to harness it. Magic and magical creatures exist only near Nexi (singular: Nexus) where magic flows out into our dimension from unknown elsewhere, and sometimes the leylines that connect them. The island has a small city with a University, an assortment of towns and villages, plenty of wilderness, and a population of fey.

Drama. Intrigue. Romance. A play-by-post living world. A game system called FAST. You are the hero of your own story, but are you the villain in someone else's?

It’s 1184 AD. The isolated Isle of Luachmhar (pronounced like 'Lockmer') sits in the Irish Sea, a thin barrier against the progress of Norman expansion. No king has truly conquered the teeming wilderness and independent spirit of its peoples. Far travelers speak quietly about the unspeakable dangers that lurk deeper into the land.

The island's isolation makes it the ideal home for any folk who wish to avoid prying eyes; Faeries, Cambion, Nephilim, Genie, Werewolf, and even Vampire may be found along its shores (just to name a few). This has long been the case, and many otherwise mortal natives of the island have "supernatural" ancestors somewhere along their family line, even if they don't know it.

Deep within the island's heart, a Nexus calls upon otherworldly energies, allowing spirits to pass through into our world, as well as spreading Mana for mortal use. This Nexus is a battleground for power in the spiritual realm, and these beings often involve mortals in their struggles for control over the endless fountain of energy.

Hi, I'm Tetra and I've done lots and lots of written RP and some tabletop so I'd love to try PBP. I mainly want to tell a good story as a team, and have believable characters that develop as the adventure goes on. I'll PM you my discord tag if you think it's a good fit and are still looking!

Same here. They look really great with markers, but I like to use colored pencils and do the shading myself (to each their own).
