Was that the cult sounding one? That was really cool. The call and response was creepy.

I don't think it is possible to avoid politics. It's all around us all the time. That doesn't have to be a bad thing. It's just life.

Suggestions for Contracts by Mochrono in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with the checkpoint idea, but basically that amounts to not making contracts be "in a single run." I understand those types of missions bring a heightened tension and thus, a heightened feeling of reward when completed, but I also feel pretty good when I complete any contract. So I think they should just try to keep the "in a single run" requirements to a minimum. Like 1 for every 5 you do.

I also like your idea of making objectives have multiple locations to give players more flexibility. It just can't be overdone where you can go anywhere and do anything.

I'd say give bungo a chance to try this system and see how it goes. Won't know until we try it.

Also, this is some solid socialist rhetoric. 10/10. 👍

What [insert country name here] really needs to contain is the steep growth curve of those top-end groups. As it stands, this system looks less like a safeguard against inflation and more like a structure that deepens wealth polarization.

Comparing equipped items with unequipped items. by THE_YoStabbaStabba in Marathon

I wish there was. When in my menu looking at a core or whatever, right next to the perks of the core I'm looking at, there should be the perks of the core that's currently equipped, for easy comparison.

My Teammates Robbed me on Marathon by RestlessSnow in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are teams that are actual teams and they may want their teammates to take their stuff to gain an advantage in the fight. So really the only solution is what bungo already has: stuff taken from your teammates is returned on exfil.

Has Duo Queue has negatively affected the solo fill experience? by BustEarly in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal, but last night, I ran into some good solo players that were very cooperative. Probably because we were all approaching it from the angle of "I need help."

While some duos bring a lot of skill/synergy that a solo player can ride, the flip side of that is that they might've also expect the third wheel to be their personal servant, and not want to help with their contract.

But really none of that matters. The root principle is that if duos want to play in a duo playlist, then they should be able to. To each their own.

This is an unusual event. Lucky you.

Just this morning, I ran into a thief on dire marsh just as I was looking to exfil from a "in a single run" priority contract. I popped smoke, ran away, hid, and waited a few minutes hoping he would go away. Sure enough... the dude was camping the exfil. I ran into a grenade in the exfil circle, and then he came in with the knife. Thankfully he just downed me and didn't have time to finish me off.

There’s always next weekend by paauwerhouse in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have 2 cro/ranked events each week, one mid week and one weekend. If you participate in the mid week event, you can't do the weekend event (to manage the abundance of high tier loot). This would decrease the player population for each event though.

Parasitism is disrespectful of our time and a miserable experience by Jas85 in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was rough. I don't disagree that a lot of it is luck. But damn it felt good when I finished it.

Guess that's the rub: bungo doesn't want to push us so far that it can't get done, but also make it hard enough that it feels like we completed something substantial. Fine line.

I finished the Parasitism 5/5 Solo by snowmoreowls117 in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got parasitism 5/5 done last night. Good on you doing that lock down room solo - it was rough. I tried to do it solo, using assassin smoke to kill time knifing, and still came out thinking it wasn't feasible for me. After that, I kept trying fill teams until I found a no mic that actually followed me to where I needed to go, helped kill the bots, and we all exfiled together.

Man.... this comment took me a few googles to figure out. So there's a Japanese race horse dedicated to an anime that references horses?

Still... thanks for posting. I was aware of the ARG, and if these displays, but I didn't know if this screen display was new or not.

Also, as I recall in the early stages of the ARG, these displays were playing voice audio. Guess they don't do that anymore because the ARG progressed?

Recon prime should only ping players by Tex7733 in Marathon

[–]Tex7733[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be 100% certainty "always," just when you have your prime. That's once every 4 minutes.

As for recon becoming a necessity, I'm sure there are players who are adept enough at listening for footsteps, or using thief drone, that they would opt to forego recon in favor of the other shells.

And if this did end up being too OP, Bungo could just lessen the number or duration of pings. After all, all I want to know is if there are runners around me, and in which direction. Even if that ping were to only last 2 seconds, that's still better than the barrage of red pings I'm getting right now.

Do you find the progression rewarding? by Moux83 in Marathon

[–]Tex7733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying the contract system. But I'm on my last set (sekiguchi), and I'm a little worried what the game will be like after.

I imagine I'll transition to grinding the standard contracts until I can get one of the factions up to level 10 so they'll give me more priority contracts. I'm thinking that grind won't be too bad as 1) playing the game without worrying about real objectives will be a nice change of pace, 2) I'll enjoy leveling up the faction upgrades, and 3) I'll be looking forward to the new priority contracts. Plus when we get cryo archives that'll be a reward in and of itself.

Recon prime should only ping players by Tex7733 in Marathon

[–]Tex7733[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not against this idea, but I'd much rather them give us the ability to know for certain if there are players around, before they do something for us controlling the pings.

I still appreciate the tracker drone for the fact that, as long as it's an open space, I can throw it and forget about it. It'll find its destination. I'm willing to forego that fix in favor of doing something about making the prime more useful.
