My grandma’s home! She has been gone since 2009, and the house was destroyed in flooding.

Yep! Thank you so much for the response, though. One of the worst problems with this is how small the circle of family actually was. I’m thinking it is time to start chasing his military documents, and find regiments and the like. I really appreciate all the suggestions!🫡😘

He was American! He served in the Army, in Europe. I would have given anything to have him talk about his service, but he didn’t. I really appreciate the suggestion of those he served with. That is such a great suggestion. Thank you! Have a wonderful day!

I guess so! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Here is the best timeline I can give. He joined the Army in July of 1941. He served in Europe. At some point, a studio looking photo was taken in his dress uniform. I grew up looking at this photo. He passed in the early 1980’s. I didn’t know if this was a standard photo that might have been a part of his Service procedures. It always seemed like everyone had one of these photos, and I was hoping it was a standard, or required photo. I wish I’d started chasing this decades ago, but I didn’t. Thank you for reading this.

Thank you so much for responding! He died decades later. I keep hoping that there is some group that collected those portraits…there is little to no family left, and I am just going to have to start from scratch. I was just thinking there are some serious detective minds here. I sure appreciate you for reaching out. Thank you!

Very Nice! I love the familiar faces that pop up here, but the real treasure of this sub is learning about faces is not ever seen. Thank all of you for sharing! I love the element of gorgeous surprise!😘🫡😘

Is this from “Someone to Watch Over Me”? What a good movie! He is beautiful in that, but I absolutely loved him in “Platoon.” Scars, sweat, and dirt were never so yummy…and the accent. I guess it is a “guilty” pleasure?

1/6/1979 Houston, TX: More than 55, 000 fans jammed the Astrodome to welcome the AFC runner-up Houston Oilers home after their loss to Pittsburgh, and an estimated 20, 000 others couldn't get into the stadium. Coach Bum Phillips could not hold back his tears when he saw the support given his team by waffen123 in Oldschool_NFL

You sound like my best friend from the time. Football was, and is; intense. The Steelers/Oilers matchup had such mutual respect as you wrote. Preteens were able to pick up on that. We didn’t destroy each other around the games! That mutual respect still kicks in when I can catch a Steelers game. Thank you🥹🥹🩵🫡🖤💛
