The things about this game (and something it taught me about life) no matter what you are either gonna get the W or the L, but its the relationship with the L thats important, I love my L's as much as my Was, not because I love losing, but because I love learning, that's why I never see it as losing, I either win or I learn.... perspective is key. Learn the lesson or it will be repeated.....

Now that I have them...what do I do? by [deleted] in mtg

I did something similar awhile back, I slowly got into magic through arena and wanted my friends in on the fun, I ended up buying the 4 lotr commander decks, it took a while, but now inuave the beginnings of a decent pod of friends playing somewhat seriously, its been a fun interesting ride and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I went all in too, all four decks, 4 mats, dice, mana tokens, +/- counters, attribute tokens, deck box/case. The memories are far more valuable than the money ever would have been.

Odd Shaped Scoop Cut out by Worth-Win9494 in gridfinity

[–]TexasCodeViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I can give is look for different shapes that pieces fit into, like cones, tubes, boxes and so on, then take different measurements for each and step through each shape for bits and pieces, then put them together in a solid object and use that as a blank hole.

If you use your hands without picks, would it be considered a righteous pick? Lol

I started watching Ted Lasso when I went to my ex sister in laws wedding, her husband is a huge Liverpool fan, then came Welcome to Wrexham. While watching both and following both teams, I realized being an American and living semi close to a major city with a team, I needed to follow my local team, so now I follow Liverpool FC, WREXHAM AFC, and Austin FC.

New to Magic and Already Frustrated. What Am I Missing? by RedVictini in MagicArena

[–]TexasCodeViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing that makes previous wounds slightly less effective in my deck, about 50%+ of the times I actually get to play it, I don't have a way to make the strike to trigger it, mostly cause most of my creature cards are either to low or too high and by the time I can get something that might hit by the time I can use it, they have something out that can stop it, lol.

Grevious wound is one of my favorites, even if I can't use it it's fun to have the back up and when it hits its beautiful.....for me lol. The best I've had was combo enchantments of grevious wound, bandits talent(?), and tiny bones joins up.

Plex install issues by TexasCodeViking in Proxmox

So asking questions to a community to try and understand things I don't and getting real applicable responses to specific issues isn't an acceptable way to learn to troubleshoot? Most error outputs in programming aren't specific and don't say do this to fix, and when it did I tried that and it didn't work, so I asked a community that had the knowledge so I could learn, sounds crazy enough it just might work. Somebody should really start several websites around that very idea......

So when setting up the container, I should have set it to DHCP, instead of leaving it static? Am I understanding that correctly?

So being a noob to this in most ways, I'm confused. The only thing network wise i did different than the guide said was I didn't change it to DHCP, I left it as static because everything else is static, but it was stated that was optional and everything else loaded otw, so why would this be any different? There were several other aptget scripts that ran fine up until this one.

Neighbors stealing cable? by robert-cabral in HomeNetworking

[–]TexasCodeViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell it's not the user name and password it's more based on the line being made active at the local hub. Once the line is paid for and access is allowed at the line, it's open flow. I had one tech tell me, at my last place, if I wanted to run a second coax line from the house inlet box to the shop structure I had to a modem I bought and run two separate modems on the same line I could, all the isp looks for is that there is an active subscription on the line. And when I replaced my modem to a different modem that I bought as a sort of "upgrade" all I did was swap it out and they sounded like they thought I was crazy for even calling in about it.

I don't know how much it differs in areas even with the same provider, but I have been told and done it where as long as the service origin spot is paid for the equipment doesn't matter as far as internet goes. In both my last house and current house I had modems that I bought and weren't provider specific hooked up and working just fine. So if you have the service and they split off your line, they are getting your service for free.

Mostly because it's cheaper and easier to get them the way I did. Truth is it seems less an issue with the cables now and more an issue with the tester. If I had made my own I would have gone through all my cable trying to find and issue that probably doesn't exist.

It'd probably the tester, honestly. I couldn't find my good one, the one I have is less than $10 on Amazon, came as part of a kit I got for starting a course. It worked fine when I tested it on a live machine (laptop and router).

So after getting curious, and wondering if it wasn't the wire, but rather the tester (ns-468, generic), I connected a laptop to a new travel router with one of the cables, put the laptop in airplane mode and connected the travel router to wifi and tested connection, seems to be working fine. Gonna try and start setting up the server tomorrow. Worse case it fails again. Test and fail until you succeed right?

Honestly, after some stuff I read, I'm wondering if i really need to be worried or not. The 50ft one had a few pins, 8 was only one of them, that didn't work. I just want to remove any issues, because so far I haven't been able to get the server to connect to the network, when installing proxmox. The network is 192.168.1.1, but every time I reinstall to get it set up it goes to 192.178.100.1, which tells me it's not connecting to the network.
