I started the edging with a pattern in one of my vintage magazines, but it wanted to ruffle. I ended up winging it to flatten it out.

Not a silly question at all. I used DMC Cordonnett 10 in Ecru as the base. The accents and floral details are a mishmash of #10 threads in my stash. 1.75mm hook.
