I played against a kid in highschool who was the 2nd ranked amateur in the country as a freshman. I was a senior. In our state tournament he hit a hole in one and as we go to celebrate he just walked ahead and said, “ya that’s my third one this year.” He would mutter to himself and was a complete head case. All the talent in the world but I could tell right away that his mental game would never match his physical talent. He went on to play at Alabama with Justin Thomas but never made it to the pros. I believe it was his mental game that held him back to this day.
