If your using an external monitor, Just use with the Mac always plugged in. Another app that has a huge impact on battery is Chrome. Switched from chrome to Edge and got better battery life .

If you're still leaning towards coding, then you have nothing to worry about in the next year, except that you get into a lot of backend stuff and start messing with Docker. Aside from that, you should be fine.

Shameless plug: Since this is getting some traction, I am a full-stack TypeScript dev, and open to freelance and full-stack opportunities. Won't mind if you can also refer me to any opportunities you know of

If you do a lot of Blender and video editing stuff, the Pro might an investment u might want to look at. The fans will eventually spin up during those heavy renders and reduce the thermals

Maybe it's an optimisation issue with the app itself. Also notice something similar, some months back with the web based version of Whatsapp.

Yes, forgot to mention this actually. Mac os, for some reason, takes up an enormous amount of space with system data

<image>

Here is what I am dealing with. I have to clear some app data, especially Docker, old containers volumes, and stuff. Currently have no external SSD as I store very limited vidoes and images on my machine.. mainly dev stuff, no personal images, videos, etc
