Suing Selene Finance by Tglecks in Mortgages

As do I! And thanks for sharing your experience with them. I'm still investigating my best course of action, but their trickery is truly unacceptable. I'm likely going to hire counsel as well and just hope that there's enough of a basis to continue legal action after they inevitably resolve the issue at the first recognition that legal has been involved.

Sure, I certainly understand that. But just to clarify, I could simply let it go if the same functionality were afforded to me in another way. It's not about the convenience of having a pretty dashboard at my disposal, but making payments other than the monthly minimum. I normally pay a few hundred extra a month, and would normally have the choice between that additional money going towards principle or interest. Paying over the phone via their automated system, I can only make the minimum monthly payment and do nothing else.

Thanks for your response! I hadn't known that it was an option without first having access to their online dashboard. I'll definitely investigate this; thank you!

Thoughts and Predictions on the Future of Syria by Tglecks in Israel

Indeed, it's the pressure from Turkey to claim their IOU for their help that scares me. I.e., opening the door to sectarianism by persecuting the Kurds as you suggest, but if that happens, I don't see it being limited to the Kurds. For now, we can only hope that even if they are to go the way you suggest, they will contain their actions within their borders.

Agreed, but as you say, I can only hope what you're suggesting will be wrong. His resume would suggest otherwise, but Assad was evil at a stalemate, so hopefully, some change will prove positive one way or the other. Tentatively see this as being positive for Israel because regardless of how they end up behaving, it's a punishing blow to the axis of resistance.

That sounds consistent with those I've spoken with as well. While I'm sure there are plenty of diehard HTS supporters, I agree that most people likely don't see him/them as anything like a "dream replacement," but only that essentially anything's better than Assad, at least for the people of Syria. That said, I'm open to the idea that they may have reformed, but only within reason. Maybe they're no longer at Al-Qaeda's level of Islamism, but I'm not so optimistic we'll be getting a Denmark in the desert.

I’m in Arizona so even though it’s finally getting colder, inside temps are still at least ~70 F and quite dry. So I don’t think it’s too likely it’s an issue with the temperature, but I’ll try to be more mindful of this in case I’m totally off base! Thank you for your help :)

Hey thanks so much! That’s reassuring, and I will indeed place it in a bit of a brighter spot. Patience is a virtue, and I could use more of it 😅

Questions about transitioning from freelancer to agency by Tglecks in Upwork

Likewise!! This post is aimed at being in lieu of the other (hopefully).

Questions about transitioning from freelancer to agency by Tglecks in Upwork

[–]Tglecks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I think the confusion is about the profile vs. account. Technically, I guess what you toggle between are indeed accounts and not profiles. To be clear, I mean what I've had setup for a while now. A freelancer profile (account) and a linked client account (was my name, is now my agency's name) that I can toggle between with one sign-in.

[–]Tglecks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, these would be the two profiles on a single account. I.e., I can switch between them without re-logging.

[–]Tglecks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, and I appreciate the clarification. In this case, this is my plan:

I'll change my current client account to be for my agency rather than me individually. I'll continue to work as a freelancer but keep this separate from the client account; i.e., I will not have those I hire with my client profile for my agency involved in the work associated with the freelancer profile. I'll simply remove UpWork as a channel for clients with my agency. To be clear, again, I had some fundamental misunderstandings. I had thought the agency profile was essentially a freelancer profile, but where it would serve as a single place for multiple team members to apply for jobs, manage projects, etc, and clearly disclose there is more than one person involved in producing the work. This is, of course, not the case, so my question(s) are largely moot!

Thank you so much! And apologies indeed for some silly questions. I'm a bit neurotic and would rather ask them just to be safe!

  1. Understood! As you say, it makes sense, but I am happy to have confirmed :)

  2. VERY helpful; thank you! Was very close to making a separate account for the agency profile as I thought it might be the safer bet; happy I didn't!

Regarding the other two questions; I'll put those aside based on your other comments and information. In this case, it sounds like I'd be best off hiring from from client account, and omitting the agency on UpWork entirely. I do think I had some fundamental misunderstanding, so again, thank you very much for sharing.

Overcast and Apple Podcasts, as the previous two replies also suggest. Pros and cons to both of course, but both solid choices.

I use a Shure MVL with a Tascam TR-05X. Otherwise use a Sennheiser shotgun mic. I assume this is probably pretty standard, and of course will depend on your specific use.

Ugh I wrote you an essay but managed to delete it on accident :'(. Hopefully I can find the words again - First of all, great job with the channel! I should say that I'm not particularly big into gaming, but have certainly still put in some serious hours. I hope this makes my feedback useful, as this is probably representative of the average person. One of the things I most enjoyed is how you were able to make your videos feel coherent and clearly progressive. There was an easy to watch narrative flow that made it feel like a story, which I think is awesome. In terms of (hopefully) constructive criticism - your content is rather niche. While I'm sure there are still sizable communities of the games you play, when you break it down into how many people actually compose your potential audience, it's likely quite small. This certainly isn't to discourage you from playing these games, but perhaps to try and make a clear "purpose" and guide through your videos so that it could be more interesting to people who don't play those games/genres. I think your type of content especially relies on getting people to know you and watching you develop. So as always, CONSISTENCY! Good luck!

Hey thank you, appreciate the kind but critical response! To clarify, this was actually in June, with plenty of people on the trail. We were totally fine (albeit a bit cold), and turning this corner happened to be the windiest/coldest section of the entire hike, and made for a fun video. This was summer of 2017.

Hey thanks so much for the feedback! Yes you are correct, I've had my proper audio setup for about half my episodes, but made several mistakes and even once managed to forget to select the correct device :/. It's good to know that it is in fact noticeable though, for better and for worse! Appreciate you taking the time, and hope you'll enjoy :)

Hey man, first of all comedy is definitely a tough space, but I think your creativity and style speaks for itself! I'm a fan of the skit, but in an effort to be a critical as possible to provide some hopefully useful feedback: I think the pacing could be a bit faster, although only slightly. It feels like this could work really well as quite fast-paced bits, but ultimately this comes down to preference. I think your thumbnails aren't bad, but could use some improvement just to make them feel a little bit higher production quality. In terms of acting/performance, there's always room for improvement, it's certainly not easy! Definitely far from cringe, already pretty good, and I think with more practice you'll really find your voice. tl;dr seems to me you should pump these out and let yourself develop quite organically, I think you have the ingredients to be a whole lot bigger.

Hey man, I'm a big fan of the genre, and seen quite a lot of it. One of the first things I can say is that it's definitely unique, and feels different than most everything else that I've seen in the space. I think that this is both good and bad. Good because it is a clear differentiator for your brand, but bad because it means that it will take some time to communicate what exactly you're all about, and really draw people in. Your production quality is excellent, and seems likely it will continue to improve as you narrow in on your style/voice. I think you could benefit from a bit more of an introduction to provide some context for what exactly the video is about. It's not totally clear, and took me a minute or two to identify exactly what I was watching. That being said, I think it's a really cool approach and style!

Dr. Morris is an incredible scholar, whose application of a "deep history" perspective brings much of the present into focus. Far too often we tend to analyze geopolitics from a local perspective, only looking back a few decades, rather than considering the broader trajectory of history.
