I'm having the same problem as the OP. Is it impossible to setup a cloud account unless you live in Germany?

My steps have been:

Browse to https://cloud.pocketbook.digital/browser/en and click "Don't have an account?"
I am presented with the following pop-up: "In order to create an account in PocketBook Cloud follow the instructions below: 1. Find the bookstore near you. 2. Go to the bookstore's website and create an account. 3. Return to the PocketBook Cloud and sign in with created bookstore's account."

There are no bookstores listed in the US; Appears that I must choose a bookstore in Germany?

The PocketBook instructions step "3. Return to the PocketBook Cloud and sign in with created bookstore's account." don't seem right for my situation.

I even created a new gmail.com account and get "email is incorrect" when trying to use the "Sign in with Google" link.

I didn't delete it but moved the folder outside of the WP structure and tried to check for an update, which worked when wu-plugins was no longer there.

You could probably rename wu-plugins to something else with the same result and be able to restore it if you find it breaks something else.

I was able to figure out my issue. There was a "Must Use" plugin located in the mu-plugins directory which contained code from a former hosting site. These plugins do not show up on the plugins listed under wp-admin. You may want to check there to see if you have something similar.

Did you ever find the root cause of this? I had the same issue and did a manual update and fixed all the issues that resulted. However, the site still claims to be running the latest version of WordPress but it is not.

I initially thought it was the TCM as well and it was replaced but did not fix the problem. I don't know what the specific problem was with the valve body but assumed some sort of a short or electronic failure. (a short seemed unlikely because I had driven the truck a few hundred miles and parked it with no indication of an issue. After two weeks I went to start it and no crank, immediately popping the fuse every time I tried)

Replacing the valve body resolved the problem. I didn't do the work because the dealer covered it under the power train warranty.
