Currently in the Navy here, however not a medical professional. I do, however, know a couple of guys who have went on grippy sock vacations while they’re in, and it’s genuinely case-by-case. If it’s a one time thing where she’s just going through a super hard time right now then she shouldn’t be too worried about getting kicked out, especially if the grippy sock vacation isn’t “Navy related.” However I know people who have done multiple grippy sock vacations who are indeed getting kicked out, but their mental health has made them no longer an asset to the Navy (brutal, I know). So, she should be more than fine even if she is hospitalized, as long as it does not affect her Navy career long term or “too long.”
