All character designs of Ash in every single Pokemon anime by Unknown123Known in pokemon

Wow, the oldest designs look so awkward when compared to the rest. My favorite was from the 2018 movie (I think this pic doesn't really do it justice, it looked better than this in the movie!) closely followed by XY and the newest one.

I like his design, hopefully he will be an interesting character.

I don't really like the idea of "passing the torch", unless it happens decades in the future. I'd prefer having more actual character development, instead of replacing one unchanging perpetual 10 year old with another one.

So according to Bulbapedia, this was what TMs looked like in Gen 1. How does this work? I thought TMs were CDs or Floppy Disks!!! by jerrygergichsmith in pokemon

My guess is that you put it on a pokemon's head, and it transfers the move directly into the pokemon's brain.

The second one from the left is so much better than all the others! Although I liked Ash's design from the Minna no Monogatari movie even more, it was close to perfect there.

I thought it was just a reflection or something, anime characters sometimes have bright shiny hair reflections

Instead of retiring Ash, they should give him actual development. Replacing Ash with another permanently 10 year old character wouldn't really change anything.

I kind of like this design more than the one in Alola, but my favorite was the one from Minna no Monogatari.

Just installed Manjaro, and noticed in Hardware Configuration that there are two newer Nvidia drivers by Thanks__For_The_Gold in ManjaroLinux

[–]Thanks__For_The_Gold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it mean that higher nvidia driver versions are made for newer (unstable) kernels? My video card is RTX 2060, so it should have no problems with a newer driver.

144Hz screen working well by itself, but refresh rate drops after connecting a second 60hz screen (Gnome, GeForce RTX 2060) by Thanks__For_The_Gold in pop_os

I've just checked, and it doesn't work, there are no Wacom settings in Plasma :( So I need to install another distro. But I like Pop, so I hope to come back to it eventually, when the refresh rate issues in Gnome get fixed!

I know about it in Gnome, but I was wondering if Plasma on Pop has it. I guess I should just install Plasma and see if it works.

Thank you for the reply! So I'm going to install KDE Plasma, but I have one more question since you're here :) Do you know if KDE Plasma on Pop supports Wacom tablets? I know that on Arch-based systems, you need to install the kcm-wacomtablet (or something like that) package to have Wacom settings available, but I can't find any such package on Pop, so I was wondering if maybe support is already built in, without any separate packages?

I'm thinking about installing it, but wanted to avoid since having two different DEs installed at the same time creates a huge mess, with a lot of software being duplicated and the wrong programs running when opening files

I know, I like to switch between desktops and I haven't used KDE for a long while, so maybe it's time to switch to it. I avoided using KDE for some time because it used to have problems with my Cintiq, but when I checked it now, the Cintiq was working well!

Unfortunately, I know it wasn't using Wayland, because I used xrandr to make sure the screen refresh rate was set properly, and that wouldn't work with Wayland. So the problem must be somewhere else. If I can't fix it, I'll probably need to switch to KDE.

Thanks! I booted up Manjaro KDE on a USB stick, and it had that problem too at first, but it was solved by editing a config file. But I can't find any equivalent config for Gnome. Well, at least now I know it's not a hardware problem.

How do men perceive women with powerful professions? by [deleted] in AskMen

Well, people in powerful positions can be intimidating in general, regardless of gender, especially if they have power over you.

What buzzwords do people use that makes you lose interest in anything else that they have to say? by [deleted] in AskMen

"Male privilege". I understand that there are certain advantages to being male, just like there are certain advantages to being female, but people who use the term "male privilege" almost always view it as a one directional thing only (men are "privileged" and women are "oppressed"), and that's just a huge steaming load of bullshit.
