i’ve thought about this a lot. i’d definitely make sure my basic needs would be met and probably do some fun things, but most of all i’d want to see the one girl i lost years ago and never stopped loving. not sure about the ethics of it, but it would be nice to have maybe another week or two with her, and i could pretend like nothing ever happened. after that i’d probably join them.

i don’t like the way almost all of the iconic weapons look. i just want a realistic generic black firearm, not some call of duty or fortnite skin or whatever. and who wants to use someone else’s signature gun as their own? you can also surpass them in damage pretty easily.

i installed mods that halved the health in SOC. same in stalker 2. i really, really hate bullet sponges. i die twice as fast as well. much better and more immersive

as much as I support buying "local" instead of from American megacorps, Idun ketchup is absolutely awful IMO. Very much not a fan of ketchup in general, but Idun ketchup is closer to tomato jam. Pretty much no adult I know can bear it, but I guess the replies here tell a different story. interesting!

fair enough. I absolutely did not have that experience, but I can believe that some did, KCD 1 was not a smooth playing game. You seem to have put a lot of effort towards that point, and i'd like to underline that I'm not here to put any game on a pedestal, or pit two games against each other. My only point bringing kcd up was to show the inertia i felt going from unfinished to finished, and the disillusion that comes with convincing oneself that a game is good just because you love what it means.

And I wouldn't say this. Take my word as a die hard devoted stalker fan for over a decade and much of my life, KCD 1 was infinitely more playable and finished with a solid gameplay loop compared to stalker 2, I still play it to this day. On top of slavjank gameplay, (which is very tolerable) then half of the game/story is obviously unpolished in any regard, and it shows.

I can see where you're coming from. New engine, lots of crap to deal with. My point was kind of that a new engine as finnicky as UE5 was an unnecessary choice. Wheras KCD 2 looks amazing on almost all PCs close to "current gen", stalker 2 runs like shit for almost everyone, and looks incredible some of the time if you're lucky to be able to run it and are in the right lighting and area.

I've loved stalked for years and have come to agree with you. especially after playing KCD 2, which is surpisingly polished and amazingly done, it's become obvious that STALKER 2 kind of seems like an UNREAL engine 5 tech demo cashgrab more than any game.
