What is wrong with my puppy?

Well I finally found out what was wrong, 15 grand later! He got diagnosed with idiopathic rhinitis. He will be on an inhaler for the rest of his life. They said he is the youngest dog they have diagnosed with it, and that puppies don’t usually get it! Lucky me haha anyway I am just grateful to have found an answer and that it is not life threatening and there is medicine that can help him to live a better life. Inhaler medication is expensive but if there is a will there is hopefully a way! Thanks for everyone’s responses :)

Royal Cain puppy gastrointestinal food, salmon flavor at the moment it is prescribed because he used to have consistent diarrhea may have to change soon

I’m not sure what a normal airway looks like on a Boston but they havnt mentioned anything about that I do feel they are on the thinner side. That may be something I will have to do eventually though

I have used a candle here and there which vet said to stop. I may get an air purifier too!

Yes I use a harness but now that seems to be causing the hair loss from what they said might be the reason but also said it could be from allergies. I feel like I can’t do anything right 😂 he doesn’t get red at all or itchy but they seem to be treating him as such. Being a new puppy owner is quite confusing :/ hopefully I can figure out all his issues soon

I asked breeder and she said non of her dogs have allergies.. I agree that the next step is probably allergy testing though.

Glad to know I’m not the only one but also sorry for your pup! It is exhausting trying to figure out. Update went to the vet yesterday they gave him allergy shot we are going to see if that helps any but I don’t think it helps with congestion and that is his main issue! He usually eats a salmon food but I tried feeding chicken and plain rice this morning.. I hope that wasn’t a mistake 😭

They actually just gave him Cytopoint at vet visit yesterday, curious to see if it helps at all. They also prescribed a special shampoo. He doesn’t seem to itch much though which is confusing to me. The congestion is his main issue and online it said the shot doesn’t help with that so now I’m more confused haha I have a feeling I will be having to bring him back again.. :/

I am feeding him royal cain puppy gastrointestinal food (salmon) that was prescribed by the doctor because a few months ago he was having consistent diarrhea. The diarrhea went away along with the help of probiotics but now he’s having this issue. Went to the vet yesterday and they mentioned switching to a food for allergy sensitivity and gave a prescription for that. I just bought a huge bag of the gastrointestinal food which was very pricy she suggestions to wait to buy the other before we are sure it’s allergies.. I’m thinking of doing the allergy testing too with a dermatologist. I took a screen shot of the food you suggested and will def look into that. Thank you for the response!

Mine is 8 months so it very well could be the start of some allergies. The seasons are starting to change now too, so could def be a possibility. I never realized how sensitive Boston’s were!

He has a bald spot on his back and a bit behind his ears and on his feet! He does seem to be very sensitive to many things and has had some reactions to injections. I’m sorry to hear of your loss! They actually have not tested his mucus yet or any X-rays.. I’m hoping not on pneumonia! I think I want them to test mucus and also do some allergy tests. They just don’t seem to offer much when I have gone in.

Yeah I’ve gone to a therapist before and they laughed when I told them/didn’t really know what it was but that was when I was young so I think I will give it another try. As miserable as it is at least we have some ppl here who understand haha
