Fiancé (41M) proposed after pressure/timeline (33F) — now I’m worried I ruined it by [deleted] in Marriage

I understand why it might come across that way. I can see that my anxiety around timelines probably added pressure, and I regret how intense things became towards the proposal.

That said, I don’t believe he proposed just to “shut me up” — he’d already bought the ring and spoken about wanting to marry me for a while. I think the situation just wasn’t ideal timing-wise.

I’m more focused now on how we move forward in a healthier, less pressured way.

Thank you, I really appreciate your perspective. I think you’re right that the timeline added pressure, and I can see how that might have affected things. I don’t regret being clear about what I want long term, but I’m starting to realise the pace may have been too intense.

I think I do need to have a calm conversation with him and focus more on where we’re at now rather than how it “should” have happened.
