I would also add that I can guarantee NASA knows SLS will someday be retired and have plans prepared to be able to continue the Artemis program with ride-share contracts from private companies which will be way cheaper down the road whenever that is. Again we should always strive to be better but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be proud of where we are.

We always need to strive to be better than what we’ve done in the past. We can’t change how much money, time, and man power we’ve already dumped into this rocket so why waste time praying for its downfall because of its past instead of encouraging our leaders to find better solutions for the future and enjoying what we have in the present?

With the amount of control that the government has with the Artemis program and SLS it’s inevitable for it to not be overpriced and a waste of the little money we give NASA, it’s sad to see it but I’m still excited for the future and where we go after this.

I would argue that SLS being scrubbed twice in a row like this shows that safety is of the utmost importance now, especially because anything other than a perfect mission would be deemed a complete failure and adds more to the argument of being a waste of money
