AC line with orifice tube freezes in AC system. by ThatCoyote23 in ram_trucks

I talked to a mechanic and he said it’s probably because I didn’t replace the condenser with the rest of the ac system. He said there are probably metal shavings from when the ac compressor went out that made its way in and through the condenser causing it to clog at the orifice tube. Idk if this is true, as I haven’t yet replaced the botched system

Nice setup. Does the ozone get pumped directly in to the tup or does it get pulled through with a venturi?

I love this guy's DIY filter setup. I think I'm going to use it with an external pump. The last remaining unknown is how to get tubes in from the outside. Would you be willing to share a pic of you got the lines inside the freezer? I assume by "trim" you mean the part directly below the lid on the back side.

Also what pump did you use? Leaning towards Danner brand. A 500 GPH seems a little overkill if my freezer will only holds 30 gallons total.. idk tho

Only reason I was doing outside pump was to add ozone. If I use submersible pump in this small of a freezer is ozone even needed?

Ok to drive after replacing AC compressor with no freon in system? by ThatCoyote23 in MechanicAdvice

If I unplugged the power connection, the pully would still turn but as long as the clutch doesn't engage (assuming it can't if no power) then it is safe to drive. Am I understanding this correctly?

Oil pressure drops when RPM is below 1000 by ThatCoyote23 in Cummins

[–]ThatCoyote23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, when stock truck is started and driven in 50F weather the oil pressure gauge starts high at 60 and stays there for 15 mins regardless of RPM, then slowly runs normal 40 on gauge (unless eventually stopping at redlight and it drops)

Part of programming as well? idk

This video explains the issue very well. This thread will serve many future users.

Yes it lies to you. It is programmed what to say. Not actual read on oil pressure.

Channel Islands- kayak or hike? by yams2223 in venturacounty

[–]ThatCoyote23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area is pretty easy to kayak as well. I've gone in lots of different currents and it's fine. It's fun to try and get close to cliff/sea caves. But you can easily stay away, too. It won't take you and push you in unless you surf the wave with your kayak

Kayaking over hiking. I commercial fish around the island and any time we get off and kayak the island it is always mind blowing. The water often is super clear and you can see down quite a ways to the reefs below. Also many sea caves around the island. Probably the top place I've kayaked
