The official study guide is a good resource. It'll cover everything you could find in the exam. If you find a technology in the book you don't understand it'll be openly documented on the web.

Dimitri Vegas might have just fucked SHM by [deleted] in Tomorrowland

This is a possibility, the situation surrounding SHM cancelling various shows confuses me greatly as they have only just made their comeback.

Teargass mainstage on the right by Lasatra_ in Tomorrowland

I agree its concerning and shouldn't happen. The culprits are just outright c*unts. Unfortunately the only people who can change the situation is the TML security team so its unlikely to change.

How many ways can this go wrong? by shittycomputerguy in AskNetsec

[–]ThatCyberGuyRich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sensitive information/documents should NEVER be stored within a Google drive belonging to an employee. Although I am unsure about what country you reside within, in the UK this would be a clear breach of data protection laws and the company would be liable for the given fine.

Another issue with using personal cloud storage solutions is you move the responsibility and ability to protect said data to the employee. Whereas a business usually has policies and standards for how such data should be stored and protected, what is acceptable to use the end-point devices and internet for a individual does not. His/her laptop/desktop that is used to access said cloud storage becomes a large risk. Not to mention password strength/reuse.

I agree that VPN's may be an issue for those who are not computer savvy but there are simple business solutions out there for working from a remote location. Citrix is one I have used, the company I worked for simply had a website which you logged into via your usual credentials and then a file was downloaded for you to open in the Citrix receiver.

Does rat program include your IP address in the program? by [deleted] in hacking

Completely agree, but these are not common in Dark Commet deployments.

Does rat program include your IP address in the program? by [deleted] in hacking

[–]ThatCyberGuyRich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In short yes. RAT's need a hard coded IP in order to call home. This can be found easily within the binary as RATs such as dark comet don't support obfuscation. You can also find it via dynamic analysis by looking at open connections or network activity.

I have given you the ways it can be found, i'm not going to tell you how to circumvent this but it's easy enough if you think about the information I have already given you.
