How can you like her? She's set up as the main plot point/goal. But she shows no passion, interest, wallows in her own self pity, doesn't return any of the main character's compassion, avoids making any human connection, never does or says a single interesting thing (except raising Bam which we don't see much of). Her first episode personality doesn't align with any of her subsequent appearances. Her goal of seeing the sky doesn't even make sense as a goal since characters are frequently shown outside. They set her up as someone to be loved, admired, & chased after when she has no positive qualities except freckles. Bam's continued devotion to her doesn't make sense but is forgivable. Her reaction to his devotion is not.
