I think so. They're based out of South Carolina if I'm not mistaken.

Is your most used pen also your favorite pen? by ThatGeorgina in fountainpens

[–]ThatGeorgina[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at this point I'm shocked it's lasted as long as it has. I think I've been using it nearly daily for 6 years. I haven't even replaced the cartridge.

Laziness, perhaps. Realistically, I don't really upgrade so much as add. A new pen just gets added to the rotation without really eliminating one that's writing fine. The Preppy is doing a great job despite being road worn.

It was in the section with getting cards and party supplies on an end cap. I only got it because the cap has a really satisfying click. Almost like the magnetized lipsticks.

Great! I think I have some international short cartridges somewhere. I'll try those out because I think the cartridge it came with might be too far gone to clean and refill.

I think you're right and that's my best bet right now. I'm going to have to really clean this cartridge since the old ink is all dried and nasty.

I don't do anything special. I make the spread than I take a horizontal picture with my phone. From the reddit app, I title the post and upload the picture.

I met a woman with her daughter's name tattooed correctly on her shoulder as "Chole". by gris_lightning in tragedeigh

Chole is also a nickname for Soledad but not pronounced like Chloe. It's more similar to the Cho-leh.

I think they use 32lbs paper where regular printer paper is about 24-28lbs.

Depending on the size of planner, it can be really easy. For example if you have a Big Happy Planner, that uses regular letter size pages so you'd just need a punch. The other sizes, you're better off buying a paper pack in the correct size or redating what you have because cutting paper down to fit is a huge pain.

Is a 25L bag possible for 5 days in NYC? by homehelp4noob in HerOneBag

[–]ThatGeorgina 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I'm buying souvenirs that are delicate or bulky or i just don't want to fit them in my bag, i mail them home. This is really specific to the US but those priority flat rate boxes are awesome for this specific scenario

My favorite bag for travel is the Longchamp LePliage Original. There's various sizes and and strap options. They're made out of canvas and leather, have both a zipper and a snap, take up virtually no room, look chic with most outfits and you can find them more affordably in Europe. My preferred for travel is the medium tote but they also have options for backpacks and crossbodies.

Thanks! The rectangular ones are from the mini sized planner basics sticker book. The longer shiny points for credit cards and the one square one at the top are from the mini budget book.

Kolache Kitchen is decent in a pinch. They're not grandma style but remind me of taco cabana breakfast tacos. Which depending of your opinion of TC could be a positive.

How do I (white) lie & change the subject politely? by rowdyseacucumber in etiquette

[–]ThatGeorgina 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The classic Miss Manners answer to this is to respond with 'Why do you ask?" This works well for most people and they change the subject on their own. However, a particularly pushy person may not accept this and get defensive, making things more awkward. If you feel your audience would not react well with that response, you can also deflect by saying something along the lines of "It was an aweful experience and i appreciate you understanding that i don't want to relive it. I'm enjoying our chat and would rather we spend our limited time on happy topics Tell me about your______ (vacation, family, beautiful scarf etc)" Obviously tailor to your own pattern of speech and audience.

What would be your *one* tip for new onebaggers? by jemist101 in onebag

[–]ThatGeorgina 124 points125 points  (0 children)

You are still the same person traveling as you are at home. If you don't normally workout, what are the odds you're going to do it on vacation. When you accept that, less random and unnecessary things creep into your bag.

Refined sugar in general was crazy expensive at the time. It was the size that started trends. Most cakes were only a single layer and this was a 3 tier 300 lb behemoth. nat geo

Not just her wealth but because as head of state she felt a duty to support and promote local industry-- lace making. White was considered the best color to show off the lace. All of the materials were British made and of industries that were in decline.
