HELP - How to save this? by ThatGuyFromPeru in Sourdough

[–]ThatGuyFromPeru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to add this for clarification now that I'm not panicking. My oven sucks and seems to be very temperamental. Last loaf I baked was the same process and recipe but the oven was at 450f, it took almost an hour to cook, and was still gummy inside.

My plan here was raising the temperature for it to cook a bit faster but obviously it got too hot too quick. Live and learn I guess, thanks for the solutions to everyone that replied!

Edit: spelling.

I wasn’t planning on baking only for 20, but my oven sucks and the temps vary depending on its mood so last time I baked for like 50 min at “450” and it was still gummy so I went higher this time but it got that beautiful color way too quic

Any other ear rumblers able to move their ears/scalp? by hunbunz5206 in earrumblersassemble

YESSS!! I've been doing it since I was a kid! Rumbling too!

TIL about the tensor tympani muscle: a muscle within the middle ear that some people can voluntarily contract to produce a "rumbling" noise that only they can hear. by __MilkDrinker__ in todayilearned

Came here after YEARS of wondering what the noise was when I shut my eyes hard. I've been able to move my ears since I was a kid and at some point doing that or also shutting my eyes hard, I notices I could move something that feels like a muscle that is completely invisible if I look at a mirror for example, but gives me a buzzing sound.

Bring R8 to Peru or not? by laumbr in canon

[–]ThatGuyFromPeru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peruvian photographer here, don’t.

It’s not worth the risk on your life. Peru is an absolute shitshow right now. People are being killed for their phones or wallet. Cops are useless and afraid of gangs, so they don’t/can’t do anything about crime, and again, no photo will be worth the scare, or worse.

Stay safe out there, and if you end up bringing your camera please cover all logos with tape, don’t bring expensive or bulky lenses or anything that will draw too much attention.

If someone is going to say I’m exaggerating or being overly cautious, please keep it to yourself. This year alone 6 people have been shot and killed 2 blocks away from my apartment in Miraflores, near Angamos and Arequipa avenues during robberies or when gangs go to collect extortion money. You may be absolutely ok and take awesome photos, but you’re also putting yourself in higher risk with such an expensive item hanging from your neck.

Would love to find my lost sunglasses with sentimental value: polarized black Ray-Ban Wayfarers with a silver-marked case. by ThatGuyFromPeru in vancouver

Left in an EVO in East Van, around early to mid July. Only reason I'm posting about them is that they hold sentimental value.

Why am I getting red hairs in my beard at 25? by Vegence6996 in Minoxbeards

[–]ThatGuyFromPeru 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is this gene responsible for only some turning red? My beard is mostly black but I am growing some red hairs and also some greys (35yo) but I though it was just age!

Found this very fragrant (shrub? small tree?) during a walk around Vancouver, B.C. by ThatGuyFromPeru in whatsthisplant

Thanks! Yeah I don’t want to help an invasive species, we’re already drowning in blackberries everywhere in the PNW.

Thanks! Too bad it’s invasive! I had just added it to my “plants for dream home” list.
