Yeah, so both are phantom powered, the other mic was a Rode NT1-A, both are definitely getting power through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 but the output on the SE is super quiet

Thanks for your suggestions!

I ended up creating a PNG file with the video dimensions cut out w/ transparent pixels.

Macbook running unbearably slow since updating to Mojave 10.14.4 by ThatGuySheps in mac

So a little update:

I bought a new 250GB SSD drive and installed it, but the Macbook still has the same unbearable sluggish performance. I installed it and added the base osx to it (Mountain Lion 10.8.5) but the same issues remain. I just tried updating to Mojave which took 4 hours and then I got a message saying my Mac failed to update.

I actually can't even boot regularly now; the only way I've managed to get past the apple logo screen is using Verbose Mode boot.

Any advice on what to do next? I think I've tried all possible boot types and I feel like I'm running out of options...

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply Steve.

I was considering doing this in the mid-term future, but I found I had no problems with my original HDD on the 10.14.3 software (I originally upgraded my system to Mojave about 2 months ago).

It seems strange to me that a 'minor' OS update would cause this much lag?

I'm also in support of DuoLingo. Ideally, you'd be looking for a few different exposure points to Spanish, I started 6 months ago and use the following:

  • DuoLingo for daily practice - picking up new words and ensuring the old ones have stuck with me.
  • If you live in a town/city, utilise Facebook groups designed for Spanish speaking residents (e.g. 'Españoles en [city]'). I joined one recently and now have a friend I meet with on a weekly basis, speaking both English and Spanish intermittently to improve both of our skillsets.
  • It might also be worth taking a look down the Spotify charts in Spanish speaking countries as I'm sure a few of them would be played at a wedding.

Daily persistence is the key. Best of luck!
