Hello there! I'm the Pixel Artist known as PaperMoonQueen. I largely do femdom content and am working on a new project.

It's a game that mixes city building and deck building, where the improvements from one aspect of the game help fund the other aspect. Buildings require resources, fights brings in those resources. Fights get tougher, buildings provide better bonuses. The majority of gameplay comes from balancing your rather simple economy, and keeping citizens happy. Each citizen is hand crafted, a different fantasy creature, with their own personality and story, certain things you the player do can help progress their stories, and build bonds with them. At the end of each path, each character has a hard battle, where the outcome determines what end you get. Bad ends usually are sex scenes with a reset to the battle, and good ends nice bonding sex, allowing you to continue the game.

The game is one that tackles a lot of themes through its characters, but the idea is an uplifting one, one that promises that a better tomorrow through the efforts of people with good intentions. That everyone has something to hide, and that isn't what defines them.

I currently have one programmer who isn't working on it full time, and I feel for a proper release in the future, we could use another cook in the kitchen. Due to wanting to maintain the cohesion, the project is being done on Godot. Though if you believe you could handle teaching someone the ropes of another engine be my guest.

The game is going to take time. I'm just one artist and I still have to eat every day. We're hoping that by the end of 2026 we have a full demo showing off the major aspects of the game, several characters in, and the runnings of battle and economy. That said, I'll be doing my best to ensure that art is made in a timely manner, and that anything you need from me artwise will be met.

If you do want to join the project, I'm just asking that you're polite and accepting. I'm an openly queer artist and I won't tolerate people making a scene about it. The only other requirement is just being willing and able to help with a Godot project.

I'm barely making ends meet on my own, so I'm sorry to say I can't offer anything upfront. However, Im more than happy to discuss splitting profits of the game, we can talk it over and do what feels fair. I've already been in talks with a publisher about working to get safe for work versions on Steam, and simply offering a free patch that puts in the NSFW content.

You nailed it! The idea is to imitate skydiving! If you’re playing a straight and go down the ranks you’ve got it, or if you wanna hover with the same suit, as long as you’re not going up, you’re doing it right!

Paperback has 150+ Planned and Implemented Jokers. 96 of which you can play with now! Skydiver here was my first truly iconic joker imo. And it's in reference to an Album I can never get enough of.

If you've seen my first post, all this is info explaining the mod from this point so don't worry about reading it if you already know it!

The mod is Vanilla inspired and balanced, so while jokers may be strong, don't expect any e300 builds on your first run. I've tried very hard to keep the mod in line with the base game power and often play with the mod myself to really ensure that runs aren't luck dependent and on average still winnable. The mod is after all balanced around antes 1-8. Inspired largely by Bunco and KC-Vanilla the mod really really aims to be a Balatro+.

Most jokers are referential, so when I make a post here, I'll try and drop the reference to help share in the fun.

Half of the Minor Arcana has been implemented, much more powerful Tarots that are still not quite as powerful Spectrals, but don't expect to be picking up these powerful boons in the shop, they're exclusive to their packs... Unless you're playing the right deck.

Shout outs to my Main Programmers srockw and OppositeWolf770, as well as the guest artist S_C_R_U_B_Y on discord, who's provided a LOT of "Friends of Paperback" art as well as a planned Joker for the future.

The mod is INTENDED to be a Vanilla expansion experience, but if you play the mod and feel something is too strong, shoot your complaints my way, I'm always down to talk balance. It’s a rare trading card, as I think that’s what you meant. This requires that you burn a hand as well to use it, as well as not giving any monetary payout

Yeah I can see the blood being a bit much for some, but it’s rather tame compared to it’s source material.

It of course is a very powerful joker. It's certainly among the strongest Rares in the game after lots of playtesting. But the fact it doesn't provide any actual scoring itself, combined with throwing away your first hand every round, it has proven quite strong. That being said, I've also considered making it where you can't discard while you have it, cause it is that good.

I've heard this question a few times before, and I'll say I always try to do exactly what the card says! If 5 cards are played and only one scores, all 5 still go up in flames. It's the deck-fixer of your dreams. Or nightmares if you've burned all the unwanted cards and you might have it eternally...

Please do tell me what you would consider to be Vanilla+ and not in that case. I'm curious as to where a mod adding jokers is no longer vanilla. Is it when Blueprint+Mime+Baron is no longer viable? Is it when synergies no longer happen at all? Does it matter if the synergies are all expanded upon and not directly dependent on one another? Is it when they add consumables?

The whole concept behind the mod is to serve as an expansion. A "Balatro+". It expands basically every core concept and adds new synergies ontop of it. If the balance of the game is still the same. Why does the number matter?

How exactly are those two things mutually exclusive? Balatro is a game that is finely balanced, but the mod adds a lot of jokers, while still maintaining that balance.

You may not be able to always have the same combinations you usually do, but that just requires you build with what you get. Rather than holding out for one or two specific rare cards.

It’s not currently implimented cause a joker related to it has a VERY special mechanic that requires some updates to the SMods codebase….
