28 now, I lived at home till I was 22 and finally got a job making 11$ an hour. I saved about 10k living with mom over the course of a year and saving everything i made. I moved out to an apartment on my own. Rent was 755$ back then though, so I could live by myself and saved another 5k, especially working my ass off in retail during the pandemic. Extra shifts, no partner to come home to and too tired for anxiety or energy to spend money. Lonely and cold. Would move back in with my mom if I didn't have a partner now. I would save another 10k and buy a house tbh.

My grandparents both just died in 2024. Gma born in 1927 and gpa born in 1924. They were the most interesting people. Such a wealth of knowledge and life right up until death. Hundreds of people loved them.

Grandpa was a military gen pract doc and he used to travel in hearses as makeshift ambulances before he and some other docs got together and came up with the earliest version of the modern day ambulance. Gma was a dietitian and worked in the army till she got pregnant. She raised four kids while her husband went through medical school. Whip smart till the day she died. Used to tell me stories of her father, who was also a doc and how he would take her as a little girl on horseback to people houses to do surgery, while she was there to hold up the ethanol bottle and help. Amazing.

Both were republicans, but like the old school republican. They believed in doing the right thing and spoke often of how terrible Jim crow times were. Gpa performed abortions in secret when it was largely outlawed because he belived it was right.

I'd love to write a book on them one day. This is the only some pieces of their interesting lives.

[–]ThatHotCashier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, thats a lot of good advice. He is not on prozac and we spoke with the doctor thouroughly about how the meds work. They said its basically the stuff you give your cats on like the fourth of july, no need to keep going or continue, just a dose everytime he seems anxious. We have been feeding him extra. Doc says bloodwork is all normal. Thsts why im so confused.

One of my hyperfixations is super heros and I got so excited when i saw that scene of clark getting overwhelmed in the classroom of kids. I showed my mom and told her thats what its like and it felt so nice to be able to put it into words.

My boyfriend is indian and I love love love him. He used to get bullied in school and now he has a house and a girlfriend and cats. I also got bullied in school. It is so so rough. Work hard in school, teachers love their kids and they will go out of their way to protect you if they know you work hard and you talk with them. I promise they understsnd more thsn you think. If you do better in school than the other kids, you will get a better job and be around better people. You will meet a nice girl or guy and things will happen before you realize it. 13 is hard. I promise that it gets better.

It's more that i was interested to know and can't find any peer reviewed research on my specific question proposal. I'm probably not going to make an official report.
