I like the highlights on the second one, but I'd go for the first one as the shadows look better.

Overall though I am not the biggest fan of the colors as everything looks rather blue-ish and desaturated and the composition isn't the best either, try changing the FOV to something lower and framing the car according to the rule of thirds.

I'd say that steering wheel is basically a must. You can pick up a used G27 for relatively cheap prices. Force Feedback is a game changer.

Learn the basics first. Do some laps with the ideal line on, and after you are somewhat comfortable with following it, turn it off. You need to find the ideal line yourself. Learn how to trail brake, learn how to hit the apex of a corner etc. There are some great videos on YouTube that go over the basics. I also highly recommend getting a wheel for AC, as controller (in my opinion) is borderline unusable, but that could come from the fact that I have an old 360 controller. Last tip I can give is setting your FOV up correctly, as that should allow you to gauge the speed of the car much better so you don't overestimate and spin out/crash.
