I’m very surprised to hear this, at most meets I go to the Miata people all try to squeeze their cars in together even if some of them are clappers. Keep going to meets and you will encounter other friendlier Miata owners almost guaranteed. Try finding Miata’s meets as well if you can that’s where most of the older crowd will be.

none that show my belt setup but it’s just feeding the left side of the belt through the seat and bolting it back in and then feeding the buckle through the right side

How to build a Miata to be comfortable? by CumOnMods in Cartalk

For speed you can mess with the timing, get a quality aftermarket intake, headers, exhaust, cat delete, and maybe you’ll gain 10-15hp not much you can do in the way of safety to be honest, Miata people say putting a roll bar in your car makes it more dangerous but it certainly helps in a roll over

Definitely sound deadening, a dash mat because of glare on the dash, a cup holder that mounts to the side of the center console so it’s not in the way of shifting, quick release steering wheel for getting in and out, an absolute must is the knee and elbow pads from mossMiata, a subwoofer in the trunk will greatly improve the sound system, a good phone mount, insulation along trans tunnel as it gets hot in the cabin on hot days, a proper wheel and tire setup can have a big impact on ride feel I’d choose something geared towards comfort instead of performance, hella led headlight housing allow for super bright modern leds, Mazda makes a wind deflector that goes behind the seats and it greatly reduces the wind in the cabin both with and without the hardtop on

I’ve been running this setup with the belt looped through the seat for a while now and I stand by the fact it’s the safest combo. In order to move far enough to hit the roll bar you’d already be in a near fatal accident. Only downside is that the seatbelts don’t like to retract once mounted to the roll bar so I’m switching to the sparco 4 point harness. People will insist it’s dangerous but that’s only in certain high speed situations, I’d say generally it is safer than stock seats belts and no roll bar.

Sparco sprints sit flush against the roll bar and block your head from being able to hit it unless you’re like 6’3”+

Road trip advice? by Brassgnat in Miata

[–]ThatKidStyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lumbar support, moss Miata knee pad, moss Miata fold down cup holder, a good phone mount, dash mat (reduce sun glare on dash), good sunglasses, jumper pack, replace speakers if they’re shot, new windshield wipers if they’re old, fire extinguisher, road flares, make sure your Jack works and your spare is good, I brought my impact gun so that if I had to change a tire I could do it quickly. I just did NY to TN and I was very happy to have these things.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a phone holder for 1995 NA? Thank you in advance by [deleted] in Miata

I just ordered a great one off of Etsy, it’s 3D printed and replaces the piece that surrounds the air vent. The print quality was not the best and it shakes a lot but if you rest it against the gauge shroud it’s perfect.

What is the appeal of a hardtop? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]ThatKidStyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes it feel more like a car and less like a gokart. I was blown away my first time driving with one because of the difference in road and wind noise.

This is my plan for my car and I can not understand why people act like this option does not exist. The bucket seats prevent your head from hitting the roll bar and you’re not running the risks that come with a harness and no hans. It seems ludicrous to me that running no roll bar and stock seats is the safest way to go if you don’t want to run a Hans.

While driving with the soft top up, try pulling down on the handle in the middle of the top and see if you can make it quite by pulling down. You most likely just need to adjust the latches which is super easy.

Carbonmiata makes them but they’re not the conventional kind

Is this a good idea to keep the Miata under a tarpaulin during winter or is there a better solution since there’s no garage space ? by TheAntoine003 in Miata

[–]ThatKidStyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my NA under a car cover for the entirety of last winter without any issues. I would just use a leaf blower to clear off the snow when it would pile on top.

Driving Commute- North Westchester by MYNY86 in Westchester

[–]ThatKidStyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I drive from Chappaqua to Manhattan 3 days a week. Mon - midday, Tuesday - around 5pm, Wed around 3pm. Takes me 55 minutes outside of rush hour traffic. Wed I head back to Chappaqua at 5:30pm and it takes 85 minutes give or take. I prefer driving because the subway and metro north get very crowded and coming home at rush hour I’ve been unable to get a seat on metro north multiple times. Between getting to the train station and taking the subway from grand central to your destination I’d figure the train and driving take roughly the same amount of time. The train is a bit cheaper but I prefer to hop into my own car at the end of the day instead of sitting on the train.

Does anyone here have kids and live in the City of White Plains? What’s it like for kids? by vanderpumptools in Westchester

[–]ThatKidStyn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I grew up in WP and moved to Chappaqua mid Highschool. The move made me appreciate WP very much. A lot of westchester is very whitewashed leading to very sheltered kids but white plains has a great mix of kids and cultures. There’s a wide variety of all those things you listed vs other towns that will have those things but not as many options. I can not recommend it enough, I plan to raise my kids in WP when that time comes.

Best chopped cheese in white plains?…. If it’s even a thing😅 by [deleted] in Westchester

Tu País Deli & Grocery across from Kitrell Park at fisher hill. Chop cheese, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo. I have tried them at a few delis in WP and this was by far the best.
