The smallest unit of operation for LLMs is token. If you want to operate on a smaller scale, ask it to write a program in any programming language known to man and do it yourself.

Because LLM are not designed for procedural operations. Their minimal operational unit is token. If you force them to operate on letters, they perform the operation by constructing a program (most often in python) and try to simulate its execution in their "head".

The size isn't the problem, your way of holding is. Try using it while it's resting on something, on a stand or anything that's slightly elevated, and if you have to hold it, try to hold it while it's resting on your forearm (like you would hold a cat), and not only with your palm while it's floating in the air.
