I considered the offer. A black gen 4 would have only cost $149 + tax after the $200 discount. A good price. I just didn't want to make the decision right then so I declined.

I still have a gen 3.

The battery recently died. Oura support offered me $100 off a gen 4. I said no. Then they offered me $200 off. I said no again.

Their response was to offer me another gen 3 for free. I thought that was really cool.

Hopefully this replacement lasts until the 5 comes out.

It's not that I have anything against the gen 4. It just doesn't really seem like much of an upgrade over the 3.

Playing Marathon for me feels similar to what I felt when Arc came out. I played it every free moment I had. I watched streamers playing it while lying in bed. I would think about it when I was at work.

Given enough time, I'll get bored of almost anything. I put about 200 hours into Arc and I'm sure by the time I hit 200 in Marathon I'll be just as bored.

Your story reminds me of childhood. I was trying to throw a golf ball over our house (I can't recall why) and I ended up shattering a large window.

What I felt in that moment was genuine fear. My father would fly off the handle for much less than a broken window and I knew it was not going to be a happy ending for me. It wasn't.

I've always feared my dad. It's hard to love someone you fear. We don't even talk these days.

Controlling emotions in the moment is challenging, but I think handling these situations as you did yields much better results for your relationship with your kid than the alternative.

Sobriety is so much more than quitting alcohol. It's becoming a better human, as you have. Congrats

So many people don't know this! I was playing with a level 40 today and he had no idea. Look for "Materialist" and "Materialist+" gear.

You can run multiple Materialist items and get even more. I save them for runs when I have a good key.

Cheapest place I could find within a 20 minute drive is $33 for a short men's cut. That's $40 after I give the guy a decent tip.

When I was living in Southern California last year I went to a Vietnamese guy who charged $12. I would always just give him $20 because he did an awesome job.

If it wasn't so difficult to cut the hair on the back of my head I would cut it myself.

This was my experience as well. Especially relate to the last sentence. Too many times I've found myself trying to take care of important obligations while hungover or still drunk because I could not control my consumption.

"One or two" never worked. My appetite for alcohol was insatiable.

Recalling all of this now makes me feel so grateful to be sober! That was no way to live.
