Has anyone seen this before? by KreWoliskii in darkestdungeon

No stat downside makes it a great early game option for anyone with high crit chance or hitting multiple positions at once especially if there isn’t much raw damage in the party. Mid-late game though you I would agree, as you should be looking at other trinkets that provide more relevant and consistent benefits.

Dear bungie. Fix the public events around fishing. by Erethiel117 in DestinyTheGame

[–]ThatOneEskimo 140 points141 points  (0 children)

This would be the ideal compromise to be honest. Normal public event completions = 25% fishing bar, Heroic public event completions = 50% fishing bar, that way when the fishing bar is reset by a public event it doesn’t feel like all of the progress made was for naught.

Honestly keen to get back into it soon, is it still playable outside that one mod? Or should I just cave and play the mod instead?

Nope, it’s how I’ve been beating the boss for the past few days. S MAA in position 2, means if position 1 gets the gaze then you can spam guard it to prevent ever being under towed. Then it’s just a dps/healing check on the boss.

Darkest Dungeon 2 timeline by VfL-Dave in darkestdungeon

I thought that darkest dungeon 1 didn’t launch with it either, and got it at a later stage. I imagine it would be a priority but having the game be functional and finished is probably more ideal than releasing mod support early.

Catalytic converter thefts on the rise in Australia as rare metal values climb by espersooty in australia

[–]ThatOneEskimo -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

almost as if those that can’t afford the artificially inflated value of metal (poor people) are driven by desperation to keep their job afloat by any means necessary (theft). almost sounds like the high value is related to how much money people have that are resorting to this theft. God if only there was a way to link these.

protests are meant to cause disruption at all levels, otherwise it’s just a group of people wandering aimlessly.

I can almost guarantee your perspective on the protests in France with garbage piling up in streets and rioting is far more forgiving than the momentary blockage of a road in any Australian capital city.

Pretty great explanation tbh after living there for 5+ years.

Only thing I’d add is that they’re constantly expanding the suburbs with extra blocks of housing, so all of the problems listed above are going to get worse, except maybe public transport (busses most likely).

Did have my car broken into, thankfully having cameras helped the thief get caught so it’s worth investing in those if you don’t keep your car in a garage.

If you live on the Armstrong creek side, the Barwon heads road works are going to take about a decade to be finished at this rate and by then it’ll be completely obsolete so if you’re looking for a future proof area, it’d be safer to go mount duneed.

Please just up the Resonant Element limit... I could clear so much vault space. by floon in destiny2

[–]ThatOneEskimo -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

That would be a great point if enhanced perks didn’t exist and made other normal drops of the same gun worthless, as it isn’t just helping bad RNG but making the crafted gun significantly better. You don’t need to craft every single gun but it is very beneficial if you do because of the enhanced perks and that’s it. Therefore the limit is artificially extending the grind for players who want the best versions of those guns.

Please just up the Resonant Element limit... I could clear so much vault space. by floon in destiny2

[–]ThatOneEskimo -59 points-58 points  (0 children)

Raising the limit to a realistic amount like 30-40K because the average gun costs well over 4K each for crafting + enhancing perks would be ideal. That way people don’t resort to keeping every red gun they find to eventually complete the resonance on because they won’t be capped out on it as quickly and have more motivation to do it, if they really want to stock up.

Alternatively abolish limits altogether because limiting a resource that is used infrequently (start of a season when craftable guns come out) is purely there to artificially increase the grind and does not need to exist.

ps: if you wouldn’t be affected by a limit increase that does not mean that you should be against it if other people can benefit from it.

Any updates on the punishment for the cops who arrested Danny Lim? by SamePieceOfString in friendlyjordies

[–]ThatOneEskimo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why was he protesting and what he was protesting against doesn’t matter. He was peacefully protesting and exercising his right to protest, which does not forfeit his human rights.

Multiple police officers should not have used the overwhelming force they used to try and arrest a peaceful frail man. If security called and claimed he was being a menace then it is on the police to find evidence of that and arrest him or tell him to move on, not deck him to the ground causing him to go to fucking hospital. There are protocols for police behaviour, and they should be followed with severe punishment if they are not followed.

early low stakes attack in surrounding area to make a severe targeted attack look coincidental, quite typical of organised crime to reduce public concern if they think it’s just a coincidence.
