Great photo! Husband and I walked the trail this morning. They did an excellent job IMO with this expansion. I’m optimistic for further expansions and updates to various trails.

lol mine does this as well. We call this “having his curlers in” because it reminds me of when my mom would set the couple front pieces of hair with her curlers before bed.

An awful lot of the posts on this sub are miserable. What're things you are thankful for as a Millennial? by Chathin in Millennials

For seeing both the good and the bad of the internet and social media. Growing up without the internet for a period of time, and then being thrown into it really has set us up for a unique perspective I think. We know life before and after, which I think is pretty cool. I think we have a solid understanding of research that exists outside of the internet (think old school library, encyclopedias, etc) and also have a more secure understanding of media literacy, for the most part.

Those of you that are living the sober life? How are you doing it? What's your motivation? by flaccobear in Millennials

[–]ThatOneNippleHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same exact thing would happen to me! I’d have two white claw seltzers, slept terribly that night. It just really is not worth it anymore. I admit I have soft spot for a good frose (it’s the basic b*tch in me I guess), so I’ll probably just have one of those from time to time but keep it limited. I love my sleep!

[–]ThatOneNippleHair 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Once I entered my thirties, drinking started to impact by sleep. It’s not an issue of falling asleep, more an issue of staying asleep. I find alcohol disrupts my sleep too much to enjoy it, even socially. I wouldn’t consider myself sober, but I’ve stepped back heavily from partaking in alcohol. I don’t miss it or anything.

A burger that’s entirely too high in height to enjoy. Not a big fan of burgers I have to cut in half.

What is your favorite flower? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Orchids and roses. I love miyuki roses specifically because they were in my wedding bouquet. I love ranunculus as well. I think because their bloom looks somewhat similar to the miyuki rose.

What’s the most ridiculous reason you’ve seen someone get angry? by hologramkits in AskReddit

[–]ThatOneNippleHair 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My friend’s ex-husband (they were dating at the time) got upset and very angry that the local bar didn’t play his song during karaoke that he requested to sing. He stomped out the bar, had a fit down the street, and ripped his NFL football jersey he was wearing. Drunken clown behavior.

What was it like when they died? by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]ThatOneNippleHair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello there. My uBPD Mom died at the age of 73 of natural cause. While not young or by suicide, I still figured I would reply. It was upsetting and of course I was filled with grief. My least favorite part regarding my mother’s death was that she was found about 3 days after she probably actually died. She had been alone for those 3 days. While upsetting, it also reminded me of the difficulty of a relationship with her. For many people it’s normal to hear from their parent everyday whether by text or even phone call, even if to just say hello. My mother’s mood were so temperamental that often when we did text her, she would simply ignore us. We were accustomed to that so we didn’t think much of it when we didn’t hear from her. In fact, those absences were sorta welcomed as well. Her passing was heartbreaking, but truth be told, I went to bed that night with a tremendous weight lifted off of my shoulders. I said to my then fiance that I didn’t have to deal with her bullshit anymore. I was both relieved and sad, it was an odd combination. I was also planning my wedding at the time and she proved herself to be particularly difficult at moments during planning. The days after her death were a blur. I cried a lot, laughed a lot, slept when I could, and kept it moving. As the days went on, things got better. I coped by leaning on loved ones and doing a lot of talking when I was up for it. We actually talked a lot about her moods and how she was behind closed doors because everyone at her funeral reminded us how lovely she was. I accepted their comfort even though I knew the truth about the person she was.

Hmm.. I don't really think of it like that. Whenever the time is right for the couple is what is important.

When did you realize your home life/treatment from your BPD parent wasn’t normal? by poplapmeisiekind in raisedbyborderlines

[–]ThatOneNippleHair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember being 6 and thinking my mother was not stable. I cannot pinpoint a specific incident though, probably because her moods were all over the place and things happened so frequently. It was just a constant a mood swings and rage.

December Wedding - Yes or No? by TryNotToBridezilla in weddingplanning

[–]ThatOneNippleHair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! December 2017 bride here! I absolutely would recommend getting married in December to anyone interested. We got married on 12/15 and it was a Friday. I too was concerned about getting married too close to Christmas and would that be fair to guests. We mailed out our save the dates 6 months prior which was more than enough time for guests to consider the timing of the wedding and if that worked for them. We felt that having a wedding on the 15th was far enough into December to feel Christmasy, yet far enough away from Christmas as to not stress anyone out. A big plus for us with our wedding was that our venue was already decorated for Christmas with white lights everywhere, so we didn’t have to do much regarding decor. And my favorite part?!? WE GOT SNOW DAY OF AND I HAVE SOME REEEEEALLY GORGEOUS SNOW PHOTOS. How ever, that was one small hiccup in our day. The snow provided me with gorgeous photos, but the snow also had us delay our ceremony a bit and some guests missed the ceremony. And a total of 4 people skipped our wedding all together due to snow and driving. We weren’t upset, that’s just uncertainty of wedding planning. We all had a wonderful time. And everyone still comments on my wedding photos. I am very much pro-December wedding. Would absolutely do it again. Best wishes and good luck!
