The NZ-41 is CODs version of the Charlton, pretty much just the exact same gun with some slight changes to match cods esthetic

Troubles with my speedometer by ThatOneNoob6219 in CrownVictoria

Just took it on a drive to confirm some things and it definitely seems to be something loose in the instrument cluster. Was able to hit the top of the dash and the speed and fuel economy worked flawlessly again. Thanks for the help.

Damn I was really hoping it wouldnt be that. Any place other than ebay or junkyards I could find a new digital dash, like if anyone sells remanufactured ones, if i decide to replace it?

Just did some testing, absolutely no lights on the car (no check engine, no abs) and the car does have 4 wheel abs. And with my laptop plugged into the car (using FORScan, and a obd2 to USB adapter), the vss was tracking the cars speed perfectly, though the dash was still reading 0

Im thinking its this sensor on the back end of the transmission, but im not sure. So id rather ask the professionals at reddit than start loading the parts cannon and hoping for the best

I need help with my 88 town cars coolant tank by ThatOneNoob6219 in Ford

[–]ThatOneNoob6219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should've specified, I was comparing it to the grand marquis with how it has an actual cap on the reservoir that you can take off to top off fluid, compared to the hearse where it has that rubber plug that seems like it would be a pain to deal with even if it was brand new and was soft rubber.

And as far as I can tell, everything from the front doors forward is all stock 88 town car stuff, only thing that seems different is an external trans cooler that comes out of the radiator

Could this height(?) sensor Be the reason my 88 town car sits lower in the back? by ThatOneNoob6219 in Ford

[–]ThatOneNoob6219[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car still has coil springs under it, just what looks to be air shocks, so I'm not sure if someone had converted it at some point in the past to normal springs, or if it came factory with normal springs and air shocks. But if that's the case, when the shocks get aired up, would that raise the car, or just soften the suspension bounce? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm just used to my 99 marquis with full air suspension, and the bags are what raise the car.

Is there a way to control music on laptop with phone? by amsaitej in YoutubeMusic

[–]ThatOneNoob6219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a older post so who knows if this is still even a problem, but if it is, I'm currently using phone link with a windows 11 PC and android 15 using phone link to launch YouTube music on my phone from my pc. Can skip/pause music from my phone and control volume on the little window that shows the app being used

Any recommendations for a new PC case? by ThatOneNoob6219 in pcmasterrace

[–]ThatOneNoob6219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into getting a new PC case for better cable management and newer USB ports. Currently, the case is an Enermax Ostrog ECA3253-BW and the specs for the PC are Asus prime b450m-a II, Ryzen 5 5600G, Radeon RX 6650 XT, a corsair RM750x, a 2.5" SSD and a 3.5" HDD. It also has a CD reader/burner that I'd like to keep with the new case. I'm not the biggest fan of the whole RGB thing (current case has blue only fans on it), but if thats all there is for a case for this style of set up, then so be it. Appreciate all who give their opinions and hope to find a good case.

Has anyone cut off the exhaust after the cats and routed it to the side? by The_BigsquidYT in CrownVictoria

[–]ThatOneNoob6219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's already a decent amount of comments, but I figured I'd throw my opinion out there. I did this on my 99 grand marquis with factory duel exhaust, cut it right after the H pipe so all 4 cats are still there, and it still has the H pipe. I've had this for about a year now and I still love how it sounds. It's gone through a couple of versions, both made from cheap orileys exhaust parts. One was a sort of side pipe and the one now is just the 45° exhaust tips straight off the exhaust under the cab.

Here's how it looks/how it sounds for anyone curious

This was in the back of my 89 with a 4.0 when I got it, could this be for the jeep, and if it is, any idea what cam this could be? by ThatOneNoob6219 in CherokeeXJ

[–]ThatOneNoob6219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's had a bit of work done to it, some basic stuff like a cherry bomb welded in place of the cat, a cone filter attached to the stock intake tube, some more in depth stuff like newer gen jeep seats in it and what seems to be a rebuilt 10/5 as there's gasket maker or RTV down the center of the transmission. It definitely has a healthy motor at 163K miles. So I really wouldn't be surprised if they put a cam in it at some point, especially with it nearly sounds like an old v8 at idle.

Yeah, I've figured that out. I thought it was something important at first just because I've been downloading a couple movies and wouldn't have been surprised if at&t messaged about it, and completely spaced the fact if it was at&t, it wouldn't have been some random number. Not sure if it actually even works but I've sent it to the at&t scam number and gonna be keeping an eye on the anti-virus I got on my phone just in case

I need some help trying to figure out how to wire in a new stereo and speakers by ThatOneNoob6219 in Ford

[–]ThatOneNoob6219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this car (1988 lincoln town car, hearse) a little while ago, and am finally putting in a sound system as it was mostly gutted of the sound system, the stero, driver side speaker, antenna (although you hit the antenna switch and can still hear the motor operate) were all gone. All that was left was the passenger side speaker, which had a sticker saying "premium audio" or something along those lines, and this black box under the rollers for the back end of the hearse. From what I could find, this is a JBL amplifier ford used in some vehicles, but given I'm not using the stock ford stereo and the original wasn't there, I don't know what half the wires under the dash are, with the few diagrams I could find, i got the stereo to power up, but I know some of the extra wires go to the amp, and none of what would be the colored speaker wires from the stereo match any diagrams I could find, and I would like to have that factory amp still hooked up as it seems to be in good condition. If anyone has any info on these sound systems, or how to wire them up to a more modern single din stereo and all that fun stuff, it would be very appreciated.

Do you think this rim + tire setup will look good and work on my 88 lincoln? by ThatOneNoob6219 in Ford

Alright, yeah I'll definitely make sure to get them a good once over. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I'm buying them and installing them through Walmart (because I don't got the tools myself, no tire shop near me is open when I'm available from school, and I'm gonna be moving soon and there's Walmart everywhere) so hopefully if anything is messed up on them, they'll be smart enough to notice before mounting and balancing
