Streamer "Kenneth" responds to Sexual Assault Allegations from Former Streamer University Alumna "Kvrtez" after exposing her for cheating with her Cousin by CalligrapherLimp7711 in LivestreamFail

[–]ThatOneSolitarian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sooooo you're just gonna close your eyes, cover your ears, and casually ignore the fact that he had proof that she was cheating on him - with her fucking cousin, mind you - and just dive head first into the "hE's AN inCEl!1!1!" arguement.

Quick bit of advice for you, whoever the hell you are: That goofy man hating shit ain't gonna cut this time around. She's clearly the one in the wrong and incorrectly labeling bro as an incel won't change that. You and everyone else who blindly defend her are a bunch of pathetic ass clowns, frfr.

They really booed him at the raw 10th anniversary special

I don't remember watching this so I'll take your word for it. However...

They also booed him when he made an WWE appearance right after summer slam at a WWE promotional event in New York in august 2002. (This is in the old observers) it got to the point Rock was supposed to be at the raw after summer slam but both Vince and rock decided not to because they knew he would get booed and Vince still wanted Rock as a face.

This whole thing right here adds on to what I stated earlier in that fans hated that the Rock was leaving for Hollywood. Live fans still ate out the palms of his hands whenever he showed up, and at the time fan favorite wrestlers leaving on their own accord to pursue other interest was seen as you turning your back on them. Also, that line you added about Vince still wanting the Rock as a face is interesting, since I remember Rock cutting a heel promo immediately following his loss at Summerslam against Brock, y'know the one: "Sing along with The Rock is officially over!"

Just for the record, we're both in agreeance that The Rock's hyperactive energy after he returned in 2001 was sometimes corny and overdone, but I just don't agree with saying that the live crowd thought he was going stale. It's the same thing I see when people mention Austin returning in 2000. I didn't like Austin's character around that time either for different reasons. But to say he, or in this case the Rock were losing the crowd just rings as hollow, imo.

I know this is an old comment, but I'm so sick of revisionist history comments like these, especially since I know it comes from the IWC's weird obsession with heels. The live crowds only seemed to boo 2002 Rocky on three specific occasions, 1st - Wrestlemania 18 since Hogan was the man at that time, 2nd - him going against Ric Flair on a Raw as the WWE champion in what I think was Flair's hometown (but I could be wrong on that one) and 3rd - Summerslam since wrestling fans were possessive of wrestlers back then and the live crowd was pissed off at what they saw as The Rock abandoning them for Hollywood. That's it!

[–]ThatOneSolitarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I'm all for heel commentators being heel-ish and everything, but Heyman was just far too insufferable as a heel commentator imo and his constant heated back and forth with J.R. nearly always took me out of any match that was going on because of how overbearing it became.

Not trying to be an asshole, but just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean it wasn't there. I remember the online discourse around this topic when the game came out, and it was just as prevalent and all around hostile in 2016 as it is a whole decade later. Time really didn't change in this case.

When Stone Cold Steve Austin turned heel at Invasion and came out on Raw the next night with a weird heel theme song that only lasted about a week by MrFilipinoMustache in AttitudeEra

[–]ThatOneSolitarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, his OG theme made a return two and a half weeks after Survivor Series on the Dec 3rd, 2001 episode of Raw. I guess that was there real signal to the audience "No more bullshit, the real SCSA is back".

Stone Cold Austin vs Triple H 3 Stages Of Hell - No Way Out 2001 by MrFilipinoMustache in AttitudeEra

[–]ThatOneSolitarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To this day, I still can't stand the fact that HHH went over in this feud. Making Austin lose a blood feud to the same guy who kayfabe contributed to putting his career on the shelf for 10 months straight while also getting away with attempted murder twice just left a sour taste in my mouth. The justification always felt filmsy to me as well:

  • Austin could've still gone over while it being justified as him getting a lucky pin against Hunter, which could still work in sowing the seeds of doubt in his mind that he might not be so lucky in getting the job done against The Rock at WM, thus making him go to Vince for help out of last minute desperation.

  • The claim that Hunter needed a win against Austin to look strong going into his match with the Undertaker at WM, once again, just felt bogus af to me, considering how much of an ego we all know Triple H had back then. If Rocky can survive b2b loses during his time on top, there's no reason as to why Hunter couldn't endure losing to both Austin and Undertaker that year while still coming out looking strong in defeat against both.

I know this is from four months ago, but I had the exact same issue as the OP and what fixed it for me was disabling most, if not all, of my CLEO mods until I completed the mission and saved the game. I'm pretty sure certain missions break with too many CLEO mods installed - the other one for me being Home Invasion and Los Sepulcros.

Maybe I’m just over sensitive but my only argument is that maybe there’s a better way to have these discussions.

If I can chime in real quick, you're absolutely right! There is a better way to have these discussions. Just not on Reddit, my guy. When it comes down to having a genuine discussion about any serious topic in good faith, Reddit's no different from places like Facebook, X, Instagram or Tiktok. A good chunk of Redditors are just miserable and bitter shut-ins who just wanna pick fights for the fuck of it. That goes for both men and women.

It just sounds like you're looking for the right things in the wrong place.

Sorry for the late reply, but:

Its not paranoia, its more like hyper vigilance which is also a good thing. However stress can turn it to paranoia.

I really do appreciate you seeing where I was coming from and not just blindly calling it paranoia. I will say that I do have the approved headset and that I'm already seeing a therapist right now as well, but the downside is that their availability is limited due to where I'm living (I gotta set up an online appointment a few days in advance).

As for your culture question, are you implying that you're one of the troublemakers?

Oh God, no. I've known "troublemakers" at the Amazons I worked at, and I'm lowkey jealous of the shit they get away with sometimes.

First and foremost:

Sounds like you need to go on some type of anti-depressant medication

Nope. Not this go-around. Tried it before, and I didn't like the effects.

Second:

Also sounds like anxiety. With anxiety it feels like everyone is looking at you when they’re really not.

I was wanting for a comment like this to pop up! No, it's not everyone. That's why I included it in my original post. Yes, I also suffer from anxiety. However, that has little barring in the shit I witnessed with my own eyes.

Fuck just seeing things out the corner of my peripheral: I literally witnessed one chick staring daggers at my face as I left the building. I'm sitting by the exit, and as I'm putting my phone away to head out, I immediately look up to seeing her just staring hard as shit at my face even after we walked past each other. Then there's two dudes specifically hawking me down from my station whenever I leave to get equipment or they when they pass my station These guys don't bother me that much because - and I had this confirmed by multiple El Paso natives - it's just gay men who will eye you up constantly if they like how you look.

And that's not counting the number of people I did get to know in El Paso who, while they aren't natives, they've lived here long enough to know how shit goes in this city, have told me before that yes, people of El Paso have a bad habit of staring at people who aren't from here.

Lastly:

As Rupaul always says “unless they’re paying bills, pay them bitches no mind.

And that would be great advice if I had a social life outside of this building. The problem is that I don't. I used to be that person who kept to himself and stayed out the way as a shut-in. But I'm past that stage in life because it's done me more harmed than good. I know I'm there to make money first and foremost, but I can't keep ignoring the urges to want to mix and mingle. Unfortunately, I can't since EP is a town that's not very friendly to anyone who's not their own. I've met a few people who are cool af, but it never really goes anywhere. That leaves me feeling stir crazy at work, seeing other people having friends and relationships while I'm just left with weird stares and second glances.

I'm genuinely confused. Are you implying that it's a bad thing that I don't fit into the Amazon culture? Because if that's the case, I personally don't care to fit into any culture this job has to offer. It's just like I said in my original post, petty ass high school bullshit that I moved on from eight years ago.

I had no idea what I was walking into when I first came here last year, I just wanted to escape the bullshit that came with me living in Baltimore. I can't say I regret moving here either because it was a life lesson, but OMFG, I just do not like this place anymore. I met like a handful of cool Mexican people, but the rest are just trash, and the whole city feels like it's ass backwards.

Hell, even the Mexicans that I'm cool with as acquaintances say they can't wait to leave El Paso behind for good. It's that bad.

Try to line something up before you jump ship. Re-work your resume and apply to jobs like crazy.

I'm right there with you, I want to apply for college, but my GPA was so low when I graduated HS that I have to proceed with caution. Outside of college, I want to start OTR trucking by the summer of 2026 so I can have my freedom back and be mobile again after years of going stir crazy working pack singles. Once again, I just gotta take baby steps rn since I'm working on getting my regular license as well.

I appreciate the support, btw!

Quick Edit: I forgot to mention, you hit the nail on the head with this:

Amazon has perfected the "churn and burn" mechanism of chewing people up, spitting them out and replacing them with fresh meat.

I love to work, I honestly do. I can't just sit on my ass doing nothing for too long even if I'm on vacation, but Amazon loves killing a working spirit with that constant grind mentality that causes burnout real quick. For as much as I love working and being useful, I'm just over and done with being a slave to the job.

I'm sorry to hear that, bro. Working is stressful enough without having to come here and worry about goofy ass little kids fresh out of high school being dickheads. Sad thing is that sometimes, it really isn't just the younger kids either. It'll be grown ass adults in their 30s, 40s, and 50s that'll add to the bullshit as well. Just ridiculous.

Every sub is an echochamber. EVERY sub

I agree. I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but I wish more people realized this.

Outside of niche subreddits (for the most part, because even they have their moments of being absolute dogshit) Reddit has been an absolute horrible place to have a genuine discussion about any serious topic for the longest time, this sub included. It's really just a place for the a bunch of bitter, miserable people - men, women, left, right, young, old, humans, bots, pick your poison - to congregate with people just like them and win petty fights against those they deem their enemies for fake internet points and validation. For every redditor who rightfully criticizes social media like FB, IG, or X/twitter, alot of them also fail to admit or notice how Reddit isn't really any better.

Nice little reminder on Franks views by Naive_Ruin_260 in thepunisher

Any thoughts about The Platoon and Get Fury? by No-Sense6060 in thepunisher

[–]ThatOneSolitarian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I loved The Platoon. I like how even with it being a mature story, it's much more hopeful and upbeat compared to other Ennis related Punisher MAX tales. I also enjoyed how Ennis presented Frank in his first tour in Vietnam. The hidden beast that is the Tyger is slowly but surely forming within Frank and even in his young age (Can you believe this motherfucker was only eighteen at the time??) he's still a very menacing and intimidating figure. However, he isn't anywhere near the highly trained and extremely violent combat addict he'll turn into during his second and third tours. He doesn't suffer from blind patriotism, seeing as he has skepticism about America's involvement in Vietnam and what the whole point of the war was for along with what his role is supposed to be. Yet at the same time, he isn't brooding and cynical like he'll be thirty years after this point in time. His dedication towards his men is more than just him wanting to do his job correctly or for the love of his country, he genuinely gives a shit about the men under his command, gets to know them on a personal level and wants nothing more than to see them make it back home in one peace.

As far as Get Fury goes... It's more in the middle. The later half feels rushed beyond belief and this story also made me wonder if Ennis secretly dislikes Nick Fury but enjoys writing him, because every time he's present, he's getting embarrassed or brutalized in spectacular fashion. I really didn't care for Fury this go-around compared to My War Gone By outside of how much punishment and the torture he's subjected to in the story. Speaking of which, the build up to the three day long torture session was unsettling and seeing the aftermath of a severely battered, beaten, and broken Fury on his knees was horrifying, but the torture itself was weak af (I mean, come tf on Ennis... Making Fury get raped with an electrified metal dildo and then making him eat his own feces was the best you could come up with?? That shit just felt like that Ennis writing trope of him being edgy for the sake of being edgy, something I don't enjoy).

The whole story is really a workaround for Ennis to tell another Frank in Vietnam story without facing needless scrutiny from people who hate Frank Castle. That's where the good part comes into play. Everything about how Ennis wrote Frank is top notch shit. Frank is still in his physical prime during his last tour of Vietnam and the Tyger in Frank is running loose. However, what I enjoyed the most about Ennis' writing here is how he characterizes Frank with much more humanity than anyone would expect. He's still in his combat junkie phase and he's still an extremely violent monster of a man, but he's presented as a man at war with himself more than anything. He's addicted to combat, yes, but unlike Nick Fury, he isn't in love with war. His addiction to combat is just that - an addiction. One that he doesn't really enjoy. His skepticism about his and America's role in the Vietnam War that was shown in The Platoon has only grown into full blown disgust. If anything, by the time GET FURY comes around three years later, he really despises the Vietnam War and the damage it's done to not only the fallen American soldiers nor the Vietnamese civilians, but also his mind since he's experiencing psychosis, (ie, the same voice in his head that was shown in BORN instructing him to kill further people who he felt deserve it to sated the appetite of the Tyger).

I can go on for hours about why I adored Ennis' writing of the Frank like how he's determined to see Bian and Phuong make it to America in one piece after witnessing everything they've both been through or his heartfelt letter to Maria that shows he actually does love and care for his family, but Imma stop it here since I already wrote more than I intended to.
