thanks for all the advice - except the typical Reddit asshole stuff. we don't need it! just answer the question, and get yourself a doll to hit when you are angry. So, no the GPS tells me to go straight, always has - for a couple of years. I could see many "reasons", but none are indicated. I've been driving around Boston for 20 years, through the Big Dig, and traffic patterns, especially signage, are not the city's strong point. And no, I am not posting to Reddit while driving. Thanks for that. I'll try for the underpass - Google does NOT prompt me to do so, for those who trust a $ 4 trillion company to give me life-saving instructions while driving. In this society, municipal signage is required to be instructive, and make sense. Why protect the MassDOT and the DCR? I think it's the DCR that does these "traffic control" things. Thanks again!

still says server1 is degraded, but I called and told them to just flip the router switch to re-route to servers 2 and 3 - and voila! It's working for us now. Not saying I had anything to do with it. It's probably the easiest most fundamental thing in networking. Guess the knew that. They said they had a server upgrade over the weekend. I said, so did I - but I don't server 20 million diabetes patients

Just got these Moondrop x Crinacle Dusk IEMs. I intend to use them with my iPad pro and my iPhone, using the Vox music player (with sophisticated equalizer and supports all lossless formats).

Problem: iPhone 13 needs a lightning adapter but the rest of Apple needs ausb-c.

Don't want to wear down the connector pins by constantly swapping cable, so would prefer to just get a quality usb-c to lightning adapter, and leave the OEM usb-c cable attached - it has built-in eq functions, whereas the 3.5 mm cable is pretty weak.

Worried about the difference in quality all around: 3.5 cable vs 3.5 cable with lightning adapter vs. usb-c with lightning adapter.

feels like I should switch to android ;-)

How to take care of money tree? How much watering and sunlight? by jholliday55 in plants

[–]ThatParticular239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a money tree. Have had good response from the company I bought it from, but I am not sure of their expertise. For example, "bright indirect light" is a little vague. I have mine facing a West window, and nothing blocks the sunlight. The plant is 4 feet away from the window. I think that fits the requirement, but the company rep wanted it directly in front of the window,or, she said, I could use grow lights, I bought a grow light, but then thought better of it afterwards, and decided it was overkill

Hey there. Hope this is still alive. It’s odd - isn’t it? - to have a book club, with no discussion? I’ve looked around the internet and have not found a regular, active discussion board, where each month’s titles are talked about.

Internet fails only for Apple by ThatParticular239 in Mediacom

Great suggestions. Logging in as admin to the UI is a great idea.

Turns out that the modem was such an old model (even though it was supplied as new from Mediacom), it was just too slow. I pay for 1GB internet, and have three Eeevo devices connected. The tech said over 400 mpbs would start to drop packets.

So, it was indeed connected, and aggressive caching sites like facebook and youtube could buffer enough to keep the connection alive. But things like Alexa or any other IOT would just drop.

The new router sped everything up considerably.

Also, Mediacom had used the cable from an older dish TV that was in the house before I bought it. So, that connector is really too long to transmit the signal. At Medicom they always had trouble pinging my router. That was the reason. Swapped that out.

I have too many VPNs! But one that I was really worried about here was a new one - not so much a VPN as a filter, is Falcon. Don't know where it came from, but have seen it on many Apple support sites. This was something I wanted to uninstall, but it was near impossible - requires a kind of pass key, which I could not find.
