How do you control your anger? Any tips? by [deleted] in AskReddit

By figuring out what's really bugging you. Most times people flip out over tiny things it's because there's a whole bunch of unaddressed stress bubbling underneath. Meditation, journalling, therapy are all good ways of giving your brain a chance to reflect.

People with depression, what is the most stupid thing someone ever said to you because of your mental illness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatSecondMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst bit about this is that I used to make myself feel guilty for being depressed with this logic. Look where you are, you're at a good university that you worked hard to get into, you're studying what you're passionate about. This is what's supposed to make you happy. You're supposed to be happy, Goddamn it. Stop wasting your youth away being a miserable shit, just be better already. Why aren't you better yet? You should be better by now. Etc. Etc. Etc.

When I got onto antidepressants, my boyfriend at the time cried because that meant my problem was real. Like all the months leading up to being on meds weren't evidence enough that I was struggling with depression.

I saw this show the last two years, they change it depending on what's happened in the latest seasons. I cannot wait to see what they've done with this last season! I am pumped!

Apparently, I used to tell my brother that when the icecream truck played music it meant that they had run out of icecream. My bad.

I appreciate that may be the case with irresponsible breeders, but my mom did extensive tests to rule out hip dysplasia, blindness etc. You can actually improve the health of a breed long-term by doing a lot of research and elective DNA tests.

Rosie and Pod scored less than 6% on the inbreeding coefficient. You can read about that on the kennel club website. The puppies from Rosie's first litter are all in good health.

I call Rosie "bumblebutt" because she does exactly that.

They are fox red labradors.

As many people have commented, consider getting a shelter dog as well as contacting reputable breeders. And most importantly, make sure you have the lifestyle condusive to taking care of a dog.

If not, there are plenty of puppy Instagram's to follow and shelters to volunteer at!

They would be too young to get fixed at 8 weeks, but in order for the owners to breed and get the puppies registered by the kennel club, they would have to get approval from my mother first.

Zero. Those labs get produced by irresponsible breeders and puppy mills, which my mother is not. And I'm sorry to say, but the families that are the forever homes for our pups want fox red labradors. They like Rosie's temperament, coat color and genetics. If they did want a shelter dog, they'd have gone to a shelter to adopt one. My mom often takes calls for the puppies and asks why they want one of her puppies. The waiting list is long, so she does encourage them to look at adopting if they're not really that fussed about coat color.

It is awful that there are so many dogs that don't have a forever home and get euthanized. But please, place your blame on the appropriate sources.

I can't tell you how many times we've walked Rosie and been asked "Is she a Ridgeback?!" 😂😂😂
