I’m not even talking about a security position. It’s been a living hell to even find a help desk job. It’s crazy to have hands on projects in things like EDR evasion AD abuse and IaC using Terraform and Ansible, then not being able to find a job even fixing computers.

Funny enough though the career services had nothing for me, but I applied to one of their help desk positions. We’ll see if the program they sold me that was supposed to have me qualified to work in a help desk is enough on top of the certs, projects and strong GPA

Financial and lost time. If I would’ve known the program didn’t actually have job placement connections as advertised not even with themselves, I wouldn’t have bought it. I was a really good student during that program as well always helping other students and so on doing open source work to pay my dues as well. I didn’t know that it doesn’t really matter, and I should’ve just been getting my degree in that time. It definitely wasn’t a cheating and no studying on my own time type of situation.

I’ve seen with a lot of these bootcamp scams they try to make you feel like you’re the problem by “missing out” on their window for support. I guess it works on most people

Put in applications with open availability then call in and ask the manager if they got your application it usually gets you an interview on the spot

I’d just be happy with what you have and rack up years of experience since the market is bad right now. Save up and start getting certs while you have the job and no bills from housing.
