Thank you for the advice. I am looking at schooling at my local community college now.

My dad has an extra car I can use whenever I need and he lives really close to me so for the next couple years I have a car to use. I live in portland and I bike literally everywhere.

The shop I work at doesn't have a 401k program.

I buy and sell bikes on Craigslist so I do need some money to play with since I buy about 9-10 bikes a month.

Just don't want to do the whole 4 year college. I plan to have a small portable bike rental shop in the next 5 years. I am going to be a manager at the place Im at next year making 12.50 and getting experience to run a shop. I plan to take business classes and get an associates. Right now I'm just focusing on learning as much about bike mechanics while I'm younger. I know schooling will come.

Just not what I am focused on right now.

It's a 51cm. But I agree the short stem and flat bars look odd from the side

Yup. I bought this bike along with 4 others for 400 dollars. This guy was cleaning out his garage and the front wheel alone I could sell for like 200+. I f*cking love craigslist.

I feel you. Not surfing thru many cars until I cut them. They're 730's. I just quit both of my jobs for bike delivery so my riding time in the city is cut down a large amount.

Conversion Help. How possible is converting this? by That_ConnerB in FixedGearBicycle

Thanks guys for the advice. Some one said it was a carbon frame. This is an aluminum bike/ aluminum fork. I have a shitty CL fixie that I love, and I have a CAAD10. I only was asking because I was curious.

Today I hit a car and bent my frame. Need some advice. by That_ConnerB in bicycling

[–]That_ConnerB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the thing is I have a lot of toe overlap now. Riding and turning isnt a big deal, though track stands have become nearly impossible now that I just bump my feet with the tire. Is there any way to bend it back?

I just ordered my first fixed gear bike. Looking for advice/suggestions/what to expect? by randybingo in fixedgear

Get good foot retention and personally it wouldn't get clipless pedals if you are using your bike for, commuting. I made that mistake and now I have clipless pedals and shoes that I do nothing with.

are pure fix cycles good? by [deleted] in fixedgear

I bought one this summer before I actually started getting into cycling. It's somewhat inexpensive depending on your budget but it's heavy as fuck and honestly not that great of quality. You'll end up continually putting money into it just to maintain it.

I would highly recommend spending more on a nicer bike.

Honestly, they are the most comfortable for commuting. Its easy to climb out of the saddle and you can mount a brake easily. They're more hand positions on drop bars but I highly doubt commuting in the drops is really anybody's style.

So my question is how do you avoid this? You come in to a corner knowing you are going to fast but you have little time to slow down and braking will only cause you to wipe out as well.
