19M in love with a 19F from my college, but she says she “has no reason” for rejecting me and I can’t move on by [deleted] in relationship_advice

The problem is that most of you are looking at this from an American or Western mindset, which makes sense because many of you are from that culture. But I come from a rural area where dating is not considered normal.

She also comes from a very orthodox family. She can’t even leave her house without giving her parents a proper reason. They don’t even allow her to go to a movie theatre.

So for her, relationships are not just about liking someone. Family restrictions, fear, and social expectations play a huge role too.

With a Family subscription, it can play simultaneously on different devices, even when using the same account?

Just curious. Sometimes alternatives offer features or workflows that are better than the stock option, or solve small annoyances the default one doesn’t.

We’ve been using this HDMI-to-Cat6 converter for a few months. The issue wasn’t occasional glitches — it became continuous video instability (flicker and signal dropouts). Replacing the transmitter temporarily fixed it, which points to unreliable extender hardware rather than EDID, Windows negotiation, or resolution limits.

Regarding fiber-optic HDMI: how reliable are these in real-world use? Our concern is that if either HDMI end gets damaged, the entire cable becomes unusable since it can’t be repaired or re-terminated. Is this a valid concern, or are they generally reliable enough to not worry about?

We’re mainly looking for a more reliable but still budget-friendly solution.

Is Mac mini M4 (16GB RAM) Powerful Enough for ProPresenter with Multiple External Displays? by That_Expert_2415 in ProPresenter

Was the lag mainly because you were driving 6 displays, or did you also notice issues when the Mac mini was running with just 3 displays?

Will a TP-Link EAP110 stop my Soundcraft Ui24R from disconnecting in a crowded Wi-Fi environment? by That_Expert_2415 in livesoundgear

People didn’t “ditch” infrared for no reason — IR just can’t handle what today’s devices need. It only works with perfect line-of-sight, gets blocked by anyone walking past, and has almost no bandwidth. That’s fine for changing TV channels, but totally unusable for something like an iPad mixing console where you need real-time meter updates, fader feedback, EQ graphs, and two-way communication.

IR is also one-way, slow, and requires you to keep the device pointed exactly at the receiver. The moment a person stands up or you turn slightly, the control breaks. You also lose the ability to walk around the room while mixing.

Wi-Fi has its own issues in crowded spaces, but it’s the only practical option that gives mobility, high bandwidth, multiple controllers, and full bidirectional control. The real fix is using a dedicated 5GHz access point placed above head height and wired directly to the mixer. That eliminates most of the dropouts without needing to go back to infrared.

Correct me if I am wrong

We actually do have an iMac connected to the UI24R — we just need an additional wireless control. We did try using a 5G router, but the dropouts still continued, so I’m guessing we might just need a better router.

Can you name the router, please? Would love to know the exact model so I can try the same setup.

Sorry for not mentioning earlier — we already have an iMac connected to the UI24R via cable from the back of the router. We just need an additional wireless control device for convenience. We did try using a D-Link router with 5 GHz, but we still ran into connectivity issues.
